Good Afternoon, Lantus land!

and I DO mean good...We got the first really good night's (and early am) sleep we've had in a long time-
(not counting the wiped out bean slept through shot time event a cpl weeks ago) :lol:

In typical cat conundrum style, all 3 kitties slept all night on the bed without incident OR complaint :shock:
Cats...a challenge to live with, but who would ever want to live without 'em :-D

and so...we don't really have kitty tales to share today :?
Maybe Miss 'Tude was just tired, or maybe our long cuddly chat before bed sank in...
(I'll believe THAT when I see it)
got a pm suggesting i repeat Smudge's baby story for folks who didn't see it late last night...
and since she is often maligned in Binks' condo...i think it's only fair.

Baby Smudge was born with 7 siblings in a Ground Owl burrow outside the Idaho State Penitentiary
where my sister worked as a Psych nurse.
As Tam was heading to her car one day, she heard horrid screams...rushed to the site where a badger
was savaging Momma & litter. She grabbed a sagebrush branch and beat the badger away (no shrinking violet, my sis)...
and rescued the survivors...Smudge & her brother Grubb.
Smudge lost a good portion of her right ear, and Grubb lost 2 toes off his polydactyl left paw.
Grubb went to a good home..and Miss "Gloria Gaynor-I Will Survive" Larue stayed with Tam.

So, as i pointed out last night...she comes by her Tuff-ness and "Tude righteously. :-D

Maybe her sweetness and calm last night came from the satisfaction of having her side of the story told :lol:

4 of 5 p's so far today for the well-rested Grey Ghostie...and we reduced this morning to 1 drop...guess that's a s1u.

and everything I've read says this is NOT a joke poster...

I think Smudge has a lot of credits built up in "let's give her a little slack" column. Still Little Lady, enough is enough at bedtime. I think the time out elsewhere in the house is a good idea, unless she would keep you up all night w/ yowling and crashes. I guess that's why I assumed you hadn't tried it.

What I want to know is how the guy found out it wasn't house trained! :shock:

Great day for Binks today!! Way to go and congrats on the drop reduction.

That is quite the story for your princess. She has been given a pass to act out once in awhile. Glad you got some good rest and all was well at your house last night. Have a wonderful day Celi!

I'm glad you re-told Smudge's story. I hadn't read about her rough start in life. Yeah, for your sister saving the little family. And for too.

Lol, about the "time out". I hope it works for you better than it works with my feisty red-haired granddaughter. :lol:

Yay to your sister for saving 2 of the kitties....and lil Ms 'Tude gets a pass on her behavior...what a rough start she had to her life. I tried the time-out thing with one of my other kitties....and used my bathroom with the lights on for a 5 minute "time-out"...well, sweet lil Romeo showed me what he thought of this is ide...he pooped all over my bathroom....in 5 minutes!!!!!! :shock: :roll: :cry: He won the disagreement we were having over one of his behaviors. :YMSIGH: ;-)

Hi Celi, it is always so heartwarming to hear the background stories of how our kitties came to find us, as It's not a coincidence. You and Tam have big hearts. Congrats on the weduced :lol: new lingo for LL!

Yay for Binks! A drop, huh? That is such good news.

Thanks for the story. I have a really hard time hearing stories about animals that don't end well. Can't even watch anything on TV if an animal is not being depicted well. I turn it off.

You can see why Smudge is who she is--Bad start in life & thenwent good & wound up with you!!
How about a tall crib like thingy? Likea sort of cagey for time out??? Hugs & Love from Us!

Hey Celi,
It was good to read Smudge's story again. What an experience for Tam, too! Smudge can be cut some slack, and maybe the Time Outs will help (you just have to find a good venue).

Binksy, you are lookin' fantastic. Go, man, go!

HHMMMM!!

i really expected that +8 to be lower...
we went outside and he chased me around the yard for a solid 20 mins
(me running and screaming like a child- he LOVES that...the neighbors, not so much :-D )

and he's been re-enacting the game indoors...dashing around like a fool.

for some reason, i thought all that activity would lower his BG...

not that i'm unhappy with a 69, you understand...just a curious learning experience...

awwww..... what a start for poor Smudgie! Hoping that her time outs will do the trick!! Pics are cracking me up!! the weduction appears to be doing the trick... binksys numbers are looking great!!

great story on little smudge - i think ann is right, gotta cut her a lot of slack for her wild traumatic beginning!
