Chris , U R so right about the Vet. . . I am actually going to offer him the OK to give my name/cell # to any future owners of Kitties diagnosed with Diabetes. Not to offend him, I will just say for moral support.. But if they reach out to me then the first thing I am telling them is join LL ASAP !! Just to think where Monet might be now if I had not discovered you guys .. Brings me to tears :cry:

I am bummed ... Just got a blue reading for Monet - it was 147 (AlphaTrak) . Second day in a row that DH was not home to feed him his mini meals so he went 8 hours without food :-|
Just feed Monet a little and will test again in 3 hours...hopefully I will get a green number then.

Maybe you should look into an automatic feeder that will open when you set it so Monet can have his little mini-meals..then you don't have to worry if DH is there or not

Hi Chris and thanks for for the suggestion...I was actually looking at reviews of those online 2day. I have an old CatMate that we used for dry food when we would go out of town for a night or two ...it comes with ice packs. Problem with the one I have is it is really just for one cat. Looks like they have another model that is suitable for two cats. Thought maybe there was something better out there, but not really seeing a lot. Any suggestions ?

I remember seeing a lot of people use the PetSafe 5 but I was looking on their website, and there's on that looks like it'd work well for 2 cats too
And you can probably find them cheaper than on their own website

I like the looks of the 5 meal one. Maybe I could get that one and then use my old one too so that Monet & Picasso will each have their own. I will do some price comparison shopping 2 see if I can find a better price.

I just ordered the two meal one from Amazon. It's supposed to come in later this week. I looked at the five but to split it out into mini-meals, well lets just say Max, aka Mr Hoover, would eat all of Clyde's food during the day. (He's eating frozen foodsicles. :shock: ) Once it comes in I can tell you how well it works.

i'll bet he'll be down to green at his +3 tonight! we're cheering Monet on!
we used the PetSafe 5 Compartment feeder - i thought it was great. in fact, although they are spendy, getting 2 would cover both of your boys. the only complaint i saw in reviews is that it didn't open fully when the food compartment rotated, but if you have the feeding tray fully seated in the base, it does open. problems come if it's not completely locked into the base.
all right Monet - time to get back to business!
