Yesterday was a repeat of the day before and the day before that... Mannie just has not gotten back on track since his cardio evaluation. I am coming to the conclusion that he just does not do these rather involved vetty visits well. It seems like it always takes forever to get him settled again. or... he's just being Mannie. or..... there is something else brewing. or..... i just need to jump start him one again. The last time I added a drop to this dose it sent him diving, with a day of HC to get him out of it. AIyeee... one dose too little, another too much. Well, we will see how things are for the next couple of days, and once DGS is home for the holidays I will consider fattening up the current dose. Mannie boy, love ya, but we really do need better numbers... cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. :-D :-D Yesterday was day 3 with the Plavix, Mannie's heart med. Last night went with placing the pill in the food once again he gobbled it right up. He sure is making this easy. So far I have not seen any of the side effects, but will keep an eye on him throughout the next few days. Looking good so far! We are so wet here - lots of heavy rains, up to three inches predicted by the end of today. And the winds! 40/60 mph. I told Mannie he had better stay in - I didn't think he'd want to be blown over again. He didn't need convincing. He remembers the last time he went out in weather like that and it knocked him sideways. He elected to camp out on the nanners instead. Wise move I think. It was a fairly laid back day for him - no doubt resting up for the next DGS days. This morning we had a great test, feed and shoot and clean plate club , purrs and lots of cuddles. Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Have a great day everyone. With the weather as miserable as it is here I suspect it will be an indoor day for me... though every time I say that I end up heading on out anyways. The deciding factor will be the severity of the winds.... I will be meeting my son for breffis though - so looking forward to that. YIPPIE!

Hey everybody! WOO HOO!! What a party for HOOT last night. I so lubs OTJ parties and all that cookin' and grilin' I think that today we need a chillaxin' day. With a fire in a woodstove... and lots of fleece... and major snackin' stuff.... and lots of party leftovers.... and some niptinis.... and hot toddys.... and good friends! Maybe we could also take a road trip and visit Moonie. Maybe take her for a drive, with the top down on the roadster... What do you guys think? You in? Let me know - I am ready for anything!! ~ ~ Mannie

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407

Morning Michelle, and oh Mannie, what are you doin way up on that floor. Come down here and meet me on the blue one. I remember the last time you added a drop, it was hard to get him up. Just a drop makes a big difference. My Vet is always amazed when I tell him. Hope he comes down on a nice slide. I can see why you need to wait til you have some time. That's too bad about so much rain and the winds. I hope you do get in a short hhike or shore walk. Enjoy breffifs with your son. I always love eating breakfast out, my fav meal sometimes.
Mannie thanks on the triple Cappuccinos with extra foam, made from beans from High in the mountains of Jamaica and for the venti quad dutch apple infused white mocha. That will get me thru more calls and paperwork today, Auntie Ann

Mannie, I think so, too, on the hillaxin day with hot cider and lots of fleece. Hoot's party was the best. We could invade Rusty's porch again or the Treehouse. Yes, we need to heck on Moonie and see if we can pick her up. See ya at the curb, Mags

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407

Good Morning Michelle & Mannie,

Hey Mannie, what's with that AMPS? Gotta come down now. Rusty will bring the ropes. Thanks for the marvelous capuccino!!! Yum!!

Michelle, I hear you on the vet-visit disruptions. I think that he will settle down again now, especially since there doesn't seem to be any stress involved in taking the pill. The horrible weather could also be a factor. Low barometric pressure and all that wind and rain can't be good for bgs! Oh, am I ever sorry that you are having such awful weather. Be careful out there if you go for a walk. Stay away from falling branches! Wear your bike helmet!

Hope you get a break in the weather today,

Ella & Rusty

Hey Mannie, That was some party for Hoot last night. Those fuds were spectacular. You say there are leftovers? Great idea to go to see Moonie and take her out for a ride, eat party leftovers, and then find a good place with a woodstove to chillax (like my house). See ya later,
Rusty

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) I so agree - what is he doing on that floor. I knew I'd see high this AM when his +5 last night was up, just didn't think it would be that bad.... :YMSIGH: and yes on the adding a drop... It was something else that last time I did that. May have to jump start him again though. decisions! so.... I will hope for a slide today. Paws crossed. There have been any times in the past where if I give him the 8/9/10 days he comes down on his own. decisions, again! THX - me too on the getting out - I hope so, and will wait for a break in the rains. Breffis here I come - I love these outings. We always have a good time.
Auntie Ann - You is so welcome!! :-D :-D :-D I am so glad that it will help you get through all that paper stuff. You need another??~~ Mannie, kitteh barista

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) oh yeah on that amps.... expected him to be up, just not that up. I so hoe he settles soon, I am sure the vetty visit contributed to this, and the weather, question now is how long do I wait for him to do his thing, or just go ahead and jump start him, knowing I probably will be delving into the HC scenario once again. I so wish he followed the rules! I wonder too if the plavix could be a factor in this, didn't think so, but.... anyways - i thought so too on the barometric pressure change and the BG's. -- and will don on teh out and about. I will wait til alter though - it is really raining hard right now. maybe things will calm down after breffis with the kid,.
Auntie Ella - you is welcome! I hope Uncle Edward likes his too. You guys need more? I gotta make round two for some, I can stop by with mroe.... :-D ~~ Mannie, kitteh barista

Maggie :-D OOOOOOOO! On the hot cider! I hadn't thought of that - it would be so good! Rusty says his woodstove is working, nice warm fire... WOO HOO! SO let's go and picks up Moonie, see if she wants to go for a ride, and then we can hang at Rusty's! Wood stove and radiators here we come, with a ton of leftovers! sweet! ~ Mannie

Rusty - dude! THX - It was a great party! WOO HOO! YUPP!! Gots lots of leftovers. I made alot so we could have them. heeheehee.... Ok, let's do it! Ride for Moonie, and then chillax in front of your woodstove. I so love wood stoves... ~~ Mannie

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365

Yay, Mannie - you're heading in the right direction!

Good news about getting the plavix into Mannie! It's great when the kitties are so helpful with that sort of thing.

Stay dry today, Michelle!!! Have a great one!

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365

THX Amy. I think he is too. Now to if he will just continue to head on down. Paws crossed. I am relieved that getting these pills into him to is going so well, and no side effects. YAY! Will do on the staying dry... it is SO WET out there... fun!

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267

267 @ +4, and on our way to a rainbow kitty. I so hope that comes to be. That and a nice Zener slide.... :-D

Hi Liz - he seems to be listening. :-D Working on his slide as we speak....

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267

That's the way to do it manster! Now pass the message along to Tess!

I know you get lots of rain, but look at what beautiful hikes you get to take. I do so miss green all summer long. I'd suffer the rain any day. Stay dry and have a great breffis w/ DS, hmm you are probably back already!

Mannie, yes we needs to take Moonie out! I'll bring the Furrari and promise not to drive too fast! Then snuggling at Rusty's, I wonder if Moonie will be able to come there? She would like it. -- Tess

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267

Morning Michelle and Mannie, sorry about the high amps but looks like he is coming down, maybe a rainbow kitty today??? I laughed when you said Mannie got blown sideways with the wind, it was a funny image! Stinks you have crappy weather but enjoy the breffis with your son! Have a great day!

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267, +6 218

218 @ +6. OOOOOOOOOO! So close to the blues. Now if I was using my new meter that would be a 197 and blue! GO MANNIE!

Hi Michelle - me too on that Amps! But he is coming down - a nice 218 now. what a relief. I so hope he continues down a little further. Paws crossed! I can still see him that day that the winds blew him sideways - a gust caught him and there he went.  That took care of the outdoors that day. and thx - breffis was great.... now if we can just do something about all this rain. so far winds are minimal. YAY! got lucky there...

HI Ann - :-D Down we go, and I hope he goes a little further and does not bounce back up. Anti-jinx! Ya know - you are really very correct on that: the rains, and what it does in the long run here. I had gone of a woods hike here eysteday, and all this rain had brought out all these fantastic fungi all sizes , colors. Very cool stuff. Though I have to admit - a really enjoy the days I spend over the hills in the "desert" part of our state. -- yupp: back already, had a good time, even have a few leftovers. YUM!
Auntie Ann - I will find her! I got ropes and everything.... ~~ Mannie

Tess - I think so too! I hope she feels better. Well we can do a much as she wants. I hope so on the snuggling at Rusty' s- she would really like that. We will have to talk her into it, maybe huh. See you soon - I too promise not to drive too fast... ~~ Mannie

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267, +6 218, +8 236

Nice job Mannie! I'm glad he's being such a good boy about taking his meds, too. Hope you enjoyed your breffis with DS, I'm sure you did.

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267, +6 218, +8 236

It looks like a yellow surf for Mannie today. Maybe that will bring some blue tonight. Poor Mannie getting blown sideways by the wind. That is a funny picture, but I'm sure he wasn't happy.

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267, +6 218, +10 200

Rats on that no-blue .. you almost made it guy! Thanks for the special delivery this morning - right to my door! You're the bestest!

I hear your frustration on the dosing. Leo is doing the same thing now ... suddenly all the reds and blacks, I hope he settles into SOMETHING, although this week I can predict NOTHING!!!! I hope you had a good day - we are relaxing now in the apartment. Whew.

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267, +6 218, +10 200

Hey Michelle, that's almost a blue there at the end. Come on Mannie, just a little more! Hope you were able to get in a walk. I've been on the phone all morning with the insurance companies and also online seeing how much the scripts will cost. Come on Mannie!

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267, +6 218, +10 200

200 @ +10. Almost there! it is nice too so see him down from his +8. Just might get back to those blues tonight. YAY!

Hi Anne - Me too on the meds! That is a huge relief, for sure. And yes, that I did on breffis. We always have such a good time. :-D :-D

Hi Carla - That it is - and I sure hope so, it looks very promising so far. Yeah, the wind thing was kinda funny. He didn't think so, threw him for a loop, and back in he came.

Hi Lisa - this is so true! and that +10 - one lousy point!  I so hear you on the settling... we do have those days with Mannie. And I just cannot predict anymore, as he just does not follow the rules, is always changing the patterns, and all I can do is follow his lead, offer suggestions. Sometimes I get those, especially on DGS days. YAY for that! AWESOME on your appt! :-D
Auntie Lisa - you are welcome, only the best for my customers! ~~ Mannie, kitteh barista

Re: 11/19 Mannie AMPS 407, +2 365, +4 267, +6 218, +10 200

Hi Ann - Missed your post, again... sorry! That it is!!! Now if I had switched to my new meter (set for that in about a week, once these strips are done) that would be a 180. SO: BLUE! The weather has been really awful - very cold rains, lots of it, and now the winds. So I opted for my indoor exercise bike instead. A poor substitute, but it was OK.

Come on down Mannie, you can do it. What a great PMPS, just keep sliding down slowly and you have have a great day tomorrow.

Exercise bike? Wow! We have to think of something to do now that we aren't rowing. One option is to get a rowing machine, the other is the local rec centre. The one near us has a really nice pool and only 5 minutes away. But it's really hard to get motivated when you'd rather be outside.

Hi Wendy - sure was a slide day for Mannie yesterday, he ended up floating in the yellows. We got blue for a bit though. Hooray! yep, bought that bike a while back... it does a decent job on getting on something when the days are just too nasty out. I used to ride it daily when I was working, was my morning "get the juices flowing" thing.... Nice on the rowing machine - Ella of Ella and Rusty just bought one. I like the pool option too - I hope to somehow fit a couple of days a week in there too. And I so here you on the rather being outsie: me too!
