Yesterday's Condo

Another cooperative, flat yellow Cinco day. So will tonight bring the same surprise last night did? I'm game. So he'll probably just surf yellow. I'm home all day tomorrow, so he can do what he wants then, too.

Took Harvey in to Sac for his kidney levels to be checked. They said he was due for a full panel next month, so we went ahead and got it done today. That way I don't have to haul him back in a few weeks. He complained the entire 1 hr and 15 min drive there. About half way home, though, he petered out and fell asleep. :-D I can't understand how cats don't get hoarse.

Sasha has eaten almost two whole jars of baby food today and about a tablespoon of cat food (plus some of the Hill's TD). I found a supplement at Petco called Nutri-cal. It's made by the same company that makes the pill masker, Tomlyn. It claims your cat will love it, which usually means my cats will turn up their noses and turn away! However, Sasha DID love it! She couldn't get enough. Woo hoo! I also got some taurine in capsules to add to her baby food, so hopefully we can keep her properly nourished until she starts eating cat food again.

It's a cold, rainy day here (which I love). So I fired up the crock pot when I got Harvey back home and ran out to do errands. It's about time to get busy and make the salad, so I'd better get moving.

I'm still reeling from the news about J.D., and then to get the word that Talbot didn't make it - LL is awash in tears lately! My heart breaks for Dyana, Melinda, and also Pat, who lost Raja this week. Too many kitties going to the bridge lately.

Sending healing vines to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Praying for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, Lisa's DF, Elise's DM and Marje's DM.

Hmmm, flat and yellow?? I think I see a pattern developing? Look out for +2 or +3!

Fingers crossed for good BW results for Harvey! That's so good to hear that Sasha is eating- is she still taking the mirtazapine or was that on her own? Either way, she needs the calories- go Sasha! :-D

It has been a very sad couple of days here, you're right, we are all feeling it but on the other hand, it is comforting to have a place like this, to come for solace.

Hey Cinco!! We had fun last night didn't we?? That's the way to keep your mamabean on her toes!! Come on back and let's have some more fun! ~ China

Looks like it might be a little quieter night tonight....then again, that's almost a 50 point drop in 2 hours, so he may still hold a surprise for you!

Great to hear you found something nutritious that Sasha seems to love...that'll give her the extra goodies she needs until she gets her full appetite back and hopefully make your life a little less stressful worrying about if she's getting everything she needs.

I'm with you on the "How do they keep from getting hoarse" question....China can howl (like any good Siamese) for hours...and why can't they settle down on the trip TO the vet instead of just the trip BACK?.....LOL

Sure has been a sad time in LL lately. Hope things start looking up and we can start celebrating a string of OTJ parties instead of wishing our friends a final goodbye

Are you going to meet Max in the lagoon? He could use the company.

No, Elise. Unfortunately, Cinco is headed back up. Maybe tomorrow.

Darn, Ruth. Not the pattern I was hoping for.

Sasha gets her second Mirtz dose in the morning (not at bedtime again!) Don't know if the first dose is stil influencing her or not.

Yup, Chris. A quiet night. And while I would welcome some lower numbers, I'm not sorry, as I am bushed. Headed to bed at a reasonable time for a change. Can't see straight, I'm so darned tired.

Ni ni. I-) I-) I-)

When I had the kitten the other day, he cried the ENTIRE 5 hours I had him. Since I snatched him right before leaving for my Dad's appointment, he was in the car with us a large portion of that time...my Mom kept asking him if he was going to run out of meows  ! And after all that, he never got hoarse. Amazing.

I'm glad Cinco took it easy on you yesterday, and hopefully you'll get some lovely blues and greens today.

Yay for Sasha loving the nutrical! Maybe she has developed an aversion to her "regular" foods....I'm sure you've probably already tried this, but maybe offer something that is totally different from what she ate before the chemo. I know with my Dad, his tastes have changed quite a bit from the chemo - things he used to enjoy don't appeal to him now; he likes things he never really thought about before; some days, food has no flavor at all.

Sending good BW vines to Harvey...have a great day today, Tricia!

Amy raises a good point. Nauseous cats often develop food aversions to the food they are eating. Try some other cat foods and see what happens.

Glad the kids let you get to bed last night and YAY on finding something that Sasha likes! Just don't let Cinco get any, 3 of the first 5 ingredients are sugars and it doesn't have any taurine either! I can't remember, have you tried Iams Maximum Calorie Plus?
