Sandy def will be getting her insulin this afternoon (was held last night due to low AMPG number 108). I planned to run a curve this afternoon and will most likely still do so. Am still working on getting a food to blood sugar spread sheet done per my vets request to see if there is a particular food Brand and or flavor that is causing the sugar spikes or drops. Yesterday we had another run of greens which didnt drop below 50 but also didnt respond as I hoped to the HC food or to the little bit of cream cheese or WHiskas Cat Milk I added to her food. She just didnt want to come back up. Her appetite also way off, usually she is ravenous and will eat anything and everything offered when her sugar dips but yesterday and so far today she is refusing to eat little more than the liquids from the canned food, and some gravy from HC food offered. We are gonna go to Petco this am and get some more of the Before Grain food that she was eating good this week.

She did go ahead and eat a bit this afternoon (1oz of Before Grain Chicken) so am hoping her refusal to eat was based on the texture of the food rather than any other reason. We got several small cans of BG and a few differen flavors of the Fancy Feast Classics that we havent had recently. Hopefully she will eat this stuff consistently.

I am glad she is eating again..! I hate it when they dont eat.. it gets you so worried and they can be so picky!!

She didn't eat much with this check, am hoping its a passing thing but will keep that in mind and possibly open a new can when I check her next. I'm thinking shes having an aversion to certain textures either that or she has something else going (prob her teeth) on despite good labs (according to my vet she is a healthy 17yr old that just happens to have diabetes).

Don't you just love it, when you have a fridge shelf lined up with open cans of cat food? :lol: Ask me how I know. :roll:
I hope Sandy doesn't have a toothache, that would explain higher numbers. Both infection and pain raise numbers.
Hoping for a different explanation for you.

Hi Barb! And yes its Dani, Sandy (or Bug) is my kitty
The answer to the lining the fridge shelf is yep, love it either that or having them in the microwave waiting for the next meal. Unfortunately I have to wait for DH's next check before further exploration into her mouth can be done as the Cardiac work up is 150 and she has a Murmur which has to be checked before any dental work is done esp since it is new. Am gonna email the most current part of her Sugar sheet to my vet tomorrow and ask about decreasing her insulin by .25 since she keeps dipping down to around 50 or so. And let her know that shes not eating well.
