11/18 Minnie 45@+5; 62@+6

Okay, we’re up to 62@+6 and she ate another Inaba tube. That seems to be the only thing she’s not refusing and I have every flavor just didn’t think of it sooner :nailbiting:

@tiffmaxee so I emailed the vet just to update them that she’s finally eating and for some reason I mentioned she was 45@+5 but then was eating after that. I get a call from his assistant that he’s saying I should bring her into the ER. I’m like, relax. First, I’m used to managing her diabetes thank you very much. Second, I use a human meter not a pet meter so 45 is actually not that low and she’s been in that range often so it ain’t my first rodeo. I don’t need to bring her into the ER for a low bg but if the diarreah continues I’ll let you know :D:D:D

That’s hilarious! I used to email Max’s spreadsheet to my vet every few weeks. Once at a vet visit he casually mentioned getting a little worried at the lows. Very calmly. He had never had a client use a human meter before me. He never called when he saw the spreadsheets though but I know he saw them because if he hadn’t seen one in awhile he would mention it when I had an office visit.

I thought so too, but hey now I know what to do if I want them to call me back fast lmao!!

btw, the Cerenia really seemed to help. It’s half once a day right? At least that’s what it says on the box I have from her old vet

How are Minnie's B12 levels, have they been tested? s. boullardi will not work if they are low. Which is common for IBD/small cell lymphoma.
Last time she had her check up they failed to do a blood test, which I was very upset about. I just gave her shot today in advance of this weekend. I know you can’t overdose on it, so do you think I can give her another shot tomorrow to be safe? They can’t see her until after thanksgiving now. They’re down one vet and it sucks

I know you can’t overdose on it
I can't say if you should give another shot. Never gave B12 to my kitties. Thankfully all the ones with GI issues were fine on their B12 levels. There is some anectodal evidence from one of the other lymphoma groups I belong to about cancer liking B12. Fortunately Minnie just has IBD, so should be OK.

She also takes the b12 methyl daily but I know they’re not the same and apparently, cats don’t absorb b12 as well orally anyway. I’ll give her another shot Sunday so it’s a day apart. I used to give it to her twice a month and they had me cut back to once a month only. I wonder if that’s the issue

No diarrhea last night!!! Of course now I don’t know if it was the metronidazole or the b12 shot so I’ll give her the antibiotic through the weekend just to make sure and another b12 shot in a few days
