Jax. Where are you going?? Jazzy is waiting for you in the lagoon. Since you boys seem to do alot together, you need to get there so he doesn't head to the beach to hang out with you :D:cool:

Okay - I have theory! I saw him pooping this morning and think maybe he got backed up...I had canned pumpkin (because US Thanksgiving is next week lol...guess I need another can for my pie) so I gave him a teaspoon this morning...forgot to mix it with is food so sprinkled some freeze dried chicken on it and he ate it up (never one to pass up food lol).

I know most here are not vets...but thinking I should pick up miralax? Is this the right one? https://www.walgreens.com/store/c/m...-(peg-3350)-unflavored/ID=prod3192987-product

YES That is what I mix in Amethyst and JoJos food when they are having trouble pooping Just make sure he drinks lots of water Good Luck:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Pamela! My hubby is out getting one of our cars inspected so I'm having him grab this on the way home. How much do you give? I think I read 1/8th teaspoon 2x day?

Yes that's the amount I would give Tyler's brother Perry ( my love)
You can also buy the store brands , it's cheaper, it's the same thing. I just make sure I put more water in the wet food when adding the miralax to it

yay thank you for the tips! Hubby picked up the Walgreens version. I'll give Jax some with his dinner tonight.
 
I have used Miralax a lot. It’s a dose to effect thing start with 1/8 once or twice a day. If it isn’t working you take it up a little. Max got 1/4;t when on ondansetron as it could cause constipation. His poop will tell you. I gave Max a teaspoon of pumpkin a couple times a day too. I would freeze it in ice cube trays and take one out at a time that would last a few days. It worked really well as I needed such a small amount I was throwing out a lot. I’ve given it to my girls at times too it might mean you won’t need Miralax too often if he gets it daily. A site worth looking at is felineconstipation.org.

About those patience pants, I love a good sale, but I wouldn’t go overboard.

So I had noticed his poops were a little hard but he was still going once every other day (par for the course for him). Today was the first day I happened to be around when he was pooping - he went to the box, tried, and then left. And then he went back to the box a minute later and had success. But he definitely was straining some. I think today was his first poop in three days. I used to track his pooping so I'll go back to do doing that.

Thanks for recommending felineconstipation.org - I had seen it recommended before to others but spent time reading on it this morning. At least it doesn't appear he has a blockage since he had a successful bowel movement this morning. I'm sure he must have been uncomfortable trying to get it out.

Hubby got the Walgreens version of Miralax - I think I'll try tonight and see how it goes. I do mix egg yolk 2x a day (brkfst & dinner) so adding another powder sounds appealing to me but obvi it's Jax's world.
 
Just here to cheer for Jax's pancreas. He also earned himself a couple of extra ear pricks again to double-check numbers at +9.5 and PMPS :p

He also got 1/8t of miralax, 1/8t of egg yolk, and a tablespoon of water with his dinner. He lapped it up :cat: Here's to some more regular poops.
