Our hearts are truly breaking today for Dyana. Losing a very beloved kitty is always very, very difficult but for it to be so sudden is just....well, there are no words for it. Also sending healing vines to all in need.

Congrats to JuJu on his OTJ Trial!!!

LBG had a betty visit today for a liver recheck. Dr. B spoke with a couple other vets regarding this intermittent elevated ALT and some of the symptoms, etc. Both of the other vets felt that the problem might not be with the liver but actually the stomach and that's why we have seen occasional vomiting. Interestingly, when Gracie started vomiting in July and we had her blood checked, Dr. B kept getting weakness in the stomach area but none in the liver. She was very puzzled by it. She also said with Gracie doing this scarf -n- barf, she's wondering if perhaps there is a little hiatal hernia present (which, as I have read, can affect liver values). Dr. B's dog has a similar issue and Dr. B learned this procedure she does on him every single day and she showed me how to do on Gracie. It is very simple, doesn't bother Gracie, and Dr. B said since she started it with her dog....no vomiting and no regurgitation. Dr. B felt Gracie looked fabulous today and everything tested for a 10. We've stopped the ursodiol and she did not want any new supplements so we're down to very few now. YAY!!

Also, happily, the Soulistic appears to be working like a charm anti jinx on dropping and lower numbers. Paws crossed esp because she LOVES it. Thanks, Elise!!!

Update on DM: she had a ct scan yesterday afternoon and they have identified the source of the headaches and neck stiffness: a broken cervical vertebra. Mom has had several neck surgeries and I'm not sure they can do another one but we don't know the options yet. She will probably be released tomorrow and sees a neck surgeon on Thursday. So no spinal tap (thankfully). My biggest concern is they haven't figured out the source of the elevated WBC yet. Thank you all for your prayers for her. I spoke with her this morning and she sounded very good.

Hope you have a wonderful evening.

The vet visit sounds like it went really well. It will be interesting to see if what she showed you to do helps too. I think I've mentioned that my vet doesn't get really concerned about an elevated ALT if everything else is good. How nice to be able to cut back on the supplements.

Also good your mom didn't need the spinal tap. I hear they are quite painful. Has the WBC come down with the antibiotic? Will they release her if it is still high? Poor gal must be in a lot of pain with the fracture. I hope there is something that can be done for it,

Hi Marje,
Good news on Gracie and good news on your mom. I hope that her neck will sort itself out and that she won't need to have anything invasive done. Sending some beautiful vines (a bit frozen: it's 17 degrees at the moment)!!

Have a good evening. Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Great news on the vetty visit and good news that they found out what is going on with your mom. I hope they can treat it without surgery. Sending prayers.

Great news on the betty visit and the mom vetty visit.

Paws crossed the new maneuver does the trick for missy G. And paws crossed no surgery for the cervical fracture.

Anne

Great to hear that Gracie's vet visit went well and she's down to so few supplements. Make life a little less complicated for the beans!

Sending lots more healing vines for your DM. I hope they are able to treat the fracture without surgery and that she has minimal discomfort.

No Gracie condo today. I just saw that her ALT was 111. That is almost normal. Wonderful! I hope they found the source of your mom's infection and she is doing better.Hugs.
