that sounds like a plan. No worries, we'll get him back to here (or even better than here). Bump him up and get some rest. Do test him before you leave for the vet tomorrow just so you'll have an idea of where he is. If he's still on the low side, you can let the vet know so they will pay more attention to his numbers.

PS. So assuming no dose before the procedure?...not a reduced, correct?

....and post back here tomorrow eve for dose advice?
 
that's a call that will have to be made in the morning. i wouldn't give any more than half a dose if numbers are high, but i'd skip "if" numbers are low... which i seriously doubt will happen. i think a bounce should be expected. BUT... what did the vet recommend?

fwiw, i withhold insulin the morning of a dental, but that's after having given insulin the night before.

i would suggest testing as soon as crushy gets home. if there's several hours between coming home and shot time i would grab a few tests to judge the rate of the rise or drop. that'll give us more information to base a dosing decision for pmps.
