Clare is starting out high again today, although not so much as yesterday. In the meantime she seems okay. She woke us up at the right time this morning by jumping on us on the bed. She's been eating and drinking well and had a good poo. I'm bringing the latter in for a check to the vet's. Maybe after all the mice she's been eating, she has some kind of parasite?

There's also the insulin. We bought our last new bottle on 7/21. Although we've kept it in the fridge I can't guarantee that it hasn't sat out on the countertop for some periods. It might be time for a new vial.

We'll keep trying to figure this out.

A question for the Board: What protection do you use for internal parasites, ticks, fleas, etc.? Thanks for your advice!

I hope Clare slid down for you today. I use Advantage II for fleas. Years ago I had to get something for worms for one of my cats, but I don't remember what it was called. I got it from the vet.

The type of meds you use for parasites depends on what type of bugs you are looking at, at least with regards to worms. There doesn't seem to be a one drug fits all. What works for tape worms might not work for round worms. For example, Revolution works for fleas, ear mites, heartworm, hookworms and roundworms. It's probably best to discuss with your vet, and perhaps get them to diagnose what needs to be treated first.

Come on Clare, Tess is leading the way down.

For fleas we use Advantage II also. At least around here Frontline plus has little effect anymore. I'm pretty sure that Revolution is Rx only.
