Cinco is once again being cooperative - surfing nicely so I don't have to worry about going to my appointment this afternoon. However, I'd prefer that he surf just a little lower - say in the mid blues. I guess I need to be more specific with him next time!
The Oncologist did not give me a lot of instructions on dosing the Mirtz, so I did some research. She just said to give 1/4 tablet every three days. I found that it is recommended to be administered at bedtime, that you should start with a smaller dose to see how it affects your cat, and that it actually doesn't last three days - every other day is now the usual rule. So I tried to cut the already small caplet down to 1/8 and gave her that crumb last night when I went to bed (around 2:00 am). Bad idea. Starting around 4:00 am, she kept waking me up, moving around, putting her cold nose on my face, and purring at warp speed. She definitely got the hyper side effect. Soooo glad I didn't give her 1/4 a caplet!!! She got down off the bed at one point and I heard her eating some of her dry food. There were also three bowls of leftover moist there, and in the morning two were empty. Don't know if she ate them, or someone else did. She had finally settled down by the time my alarm went off (of course! )! I went down and started the morning feeding prep routine, and she came hopping into the kitchen!!! She hasn't done that in ages! I put the bowl of cat food down in front of her and she took two bites and hopped away (darn!). I followed, and eventually she ate the whole thing - maybe a tablespoon. I put more in the bowl, but she was done. A little while later I offered baby food and she ate a couple teaspoons. At lunch time I got about 2/3 of a jar of baby food into her. So I do think the Mirtz helped some. It's not a miracle cure, for sure, but I'll take all the help I can get. I really want her to get at least half her calories from cat food, because she needs those nutrients, like taurine, that aren't in baby food. I will definite be giving her next dose first thing in the morning on Thursday instead of at bedtime!!!
I am still so sad and shocked about J.D. My heart bleeds for Dyana. Sending lots of comfort vines, prayers and hugs to her and Ginger. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:
Healing vines go out to all in need, and hugs to all their beans. :YMHUG: Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF, Lisa's DF, Elise's DM and Marje's DM.
