It's been another wonderful day for Miss China!!

She's been busy at the lagoon supervising the deputies who've been getting the beach ready for a big party!!

There will be games to play, surfing lessons and of course, lots of yummy fuds!!

Come one, come all!! We'll have a big beach volleyball game and a sand castle building contest! Then we'll get the bonfire going and roast some of those famous L/B/L weenies.....and of course some of those magic, no sugar marshmallows! Bring your best marshmallow roasting stick!!

Lagoon Meisterin China and her deputies will be giving surfing lessons to all the kitties that want them too!
 
Well that was fun.....1:30am my phone rings (which always scares me to death with me thinking something's happened with mom)…..it was my 34 year old son....his truck had lost all it's coolant and he was stuck on the side of the road about 45 miles away. His wife wasn't answering her phone, so who else does he know that might be awake? Good ol' mom!!

So I go to Wally World and buy 4 gallons of anti-freeze and go find him on the side of the road (with no lights) …..his battery is also dead so no flashing warning lights either! Finally got there, his battery was so dead it wouldn't hold a quick jump so after pouring all 4 gallons of coolant in, he came and sat in the car with me to warm up (it was 28 degrees and drizzling) while we just let the jumper cables do their thing. He finally got it started so we headed home......didn't get very far before he put his flashers on and pulled off the road again because the coolant was all gone again and the truck was overheating. Still have no idea where the coolant went. We couldn't see where it was going.....so I ended up driving him home and then heading back home myself and here we are! Totally awake at 4am

Now it's 4am, I'm all wired up and need to chill for awhile before even thinking about trying to sleep......but then at 6am, it's time to T/F/S China

Guess I'll sleep tomorrow!! I hope!!
 
Wow, that was a crazy night! Hope tomorrow's sleep is doubly good to make up for last night :)
Your son's lucky to have you so close.
Hope it's an inexpensive fix for the truck.
 
Hope the truck can be fixed! I had a friend with that problem, but he decided to race to the next gas station ... it didn't make it- engine seized.
Sounds like your son caught it quick- with any luck it's just a hole in the rad.
 
Maybe he should join the American Automobile Association (AAA). They would have responded to his call, towed his truck to their garage, and maybe fixed it right away. In any event, he could have called you from the garage and made arrangements for you or his wife to pick him up. One emergency response would have more than compensated for the (modest) yearly dues.

Hope you got to take a nap today.

I heard that the beach party was lots of fun.

He couldn't get his wife to answer her phone....that's why he ended up calling me!!

We have very few services around here. In the 45 mile drive, I saw 1 truck on the road and while we were at the scene, one car passed by......so a total of 2 vehicles drove on the same road at the same time (and that included the drive up and back!)

He was concerned about the engine seizing too....we tried jumping it several times and it wouldn't do anything so he finally sat in my car for a little while to warm up and let it charge. It finally did start. He dumped 4 gallons into the reservoir and we couldn't see anyplace it was coming out of, but several miles further down the road he had to pull over again because it was gone again...and we still couldn't figure out where it went!!
