No....they either have to give you the carbs or they have to give you ash and fiber as well. If they have as-fed numbers, add moisture to that list. Once you get all those, then you add them together and subtract from 100 to get carbs. Then it goes in the calculator.

So...for DMB to calculate carbs, you need protein, fat, ash, and fiber
For as-Feds to calculate carbs, you need protein, fat, ash, fiber, and moisture.
Hi @Marje and Gracie I'm missing something here. I see in your note in the condo the day before this one that I need ash, moisture and fiber % but I don't see it in the calculation example so I've just been using protein, fat, carbs.
ETA...oh I think the lightbulb just went on. I need the protein, fat, ash, fibre and moisture...subtract from 100 and the rest is the carbs. Then I use the carbs, protein, fat to determine % of calories????

Hounds and Gatos chicken....as fed....protein 10.8, moisture 76.0, fat 10.44, ash 2.05, fibre..no info total 99.29 so carbs are .71
As a % of calories 1.93

Yes. If they give you carbs, you don't need the ash, fiber, moisture. If they don't give you carbs, you need them to subtract everything else from 100 to get the carbs.
