Whew it’s been a busy couple of days...

First @Gill & George THANK YOU for your help Saturday. I’m sorry I seemed to disappear. Things got very busy at our holiday auction and the numbers my DH was sending looked like he was holding steady so I turned to putting out other fires and forgot to let you know he was doing ok. Very poor form on my end and I am sorry.

That night he went super low and we had fun fighting that fire. Sunday he was better, but then as well as today we seem to be fighting this dose. In my gut I know he’s not quite ready for 0.5 but at 0.75 we’re constantly food propping. It gets a bit scary and exhausting but I love seeing him riding the blues and greens. However I worry one day, I’m gonna miss the low. This week my DH is gone and he is the usual 2 am (+5) tester cause he is a night owl and I pass out at 11 (+2). I’ve tried setting alarms and I just don’t wake up. Last night Biscuit started howling at 3 am and I realized I’d slept through my 2 am alarm. I sat bolt upright and worried it was a hypo yowl.. luckily I tested him and he was only 109. Now today we’re hovering in the 50’s with food. So I’m looking for suggestions. Obviously he would have gone into the 40’s today for the 3rd time if not for the MC I fed him. I’m thinking maybe I should set out the auto feeder with MC snacks at night to maintain this dose for a little longer? I suppose we could try calipers for an in between dose but I didn’t see our needles listed and I haven’t switched them as I didn’t want to make a change when things have been working. Just exhausted but want to keep him safe and yet promote remission.

Wow, that’s a lot of writing. Sorry guys just trying to figure this all out.

Something I did is use the in-between dose of .62. We stayed at that dose safely for a long time until .5 worked!

Nothing wrong with a lot of writing! It helps people understand your situation and offer suggestions.

What percentage carb are you feeding now? Maybe something LC but a bit higher carbs will help you stay at the dose longer.

You might want to run to the store and pick up some 'Gravy Lovers Fancy Feast Flavors' Those run between 13 - 15% typically. If you feed him some of that when he's sliding down you can slow that drop or hold him in place a bit longer. I use it a lot to steer Luci away from the sharkies...she loves to visit the sharks and hence will lose her dose as well...if you feel this dose is working for him and you want to hold on to it as long as possible, get that medium carb gravy lovers to prop him up...

Oh yes, I do use those as well. They are in my supply cupboard for propping when I’m doing MC snacks. Also, I have some HC Indoor Friskies on hand as well. The LC is just their normal 4 times a day meal.
