I am hoping what I am starting to see in his numbers is a pattern toward nadirs in the +4 to +7 range of the cycle rather than at pre-shots. He had a somewhat slow build toward a bounce in the 11/16 AM cycle and the bounce continued for another two cycles and started to break in the 11/17 PM cycle. This current cycle will tell me more about any pattern developing, I think.

Bama Kitty ate pretty well at AMPS considering he ate after every one of his tests last night, finishing a can of FF Chicken Feast that I had opened at PMPS plus a little Dr. Elsey's chicken kibble at +9.75. This morning's preshot meal was about 1 oz. of Luvsome [Kroger LC brand] Salmon plus 10 or 12 pieces of kibble. He has pooped already and seems ready to settle in for some serious napping. I'll probably check at +2 and see if he wants more Luvsome. Otherwise, will offer more at +4.

Morning, Gina. Bama looks good this morning at AMPS. Good to know he has an appetite. Good idea to get a +2. Hope you have a great Thursday.
He is coming down a bit @ +2 [148], not at a "the sky is falling rate" but still something to keep an eye on this early in the cycle. Will take a +4 and see where he is. He may come down faster as the cycle wears on. He did not get out of his bed and did not want to eat. Not going to be too concerned just yet, seeing that he feasted all night. Probably just wants to nap.

Did not quite make it to +4, grabbed a test @ 3.5 after Bama got up from his nap to take a pee. When I went in to check on him, he started meowing for food, the test showed an increase in drop speed. Feeding some more of his leftovers from breakfast. This is his 6th cycle on 5.5u so if he wants to wander into the greens and earn another reducie, I am ok with that. I will feed more when he is hungry but I won't try to prevent a drop below 90. If he sinks too far, too fast below 80, I may try to prop up with food. Will test again in an hour. Don't won't to miss that reducie! :joyful:

Food from 3.5 must have halted the drop; he has gone back to bed and did not get up nor show in any way that he is hungry so did not offer any. Will test again in 1.5 hours when he'll be at the half-way point in his cycle and may be ready for more food. Love chasing those reducies!;)

Starting to rise @ +7; did not get out of his bed nor seem to be hungry; will check @ +9 to see if he'll eat to avoid the late cycle barfies. Hey! Hey! 5u starting tonight!

So glad you are on top of these greens, Gina. Congratulations on another reduction!
Thanks, Summer! It feels a little strange to see these "low" numbers when he was so high for so long. Feeding some Dr. Elsey's Chicken kibble now to avoid the late cycle barfies and to bring his BG up a little more. I don't think he needs a back to back reduction. I need to see if he is going to bounce from seeing green. Last time he touched green, he didn't bounce until 2 cycles later.

Bama does not seem too interested in his food, hoping it is because he has been eating all day. Maybe I should adjust my expectations for his pre-shot meals. Feed less at pre-shot and more during the early part of his cycle.

Be careful, Gina. Don't fill Bama up with food if you think he might go down in numbers. If there was one thing I learned, in this diabetes journey, was to make sure Susie would eat when she dropped low. A cat that is dropping in numbers needs to have an appetite to raise those numbers. Just a suggestion going forward.

Thanks, Summer. Bama may be on the way up. I'm about to take a +1 to see. He was at 109 @ +9 and had risen to 158 at pre-shot. Maybe it will be a quiet, uneventful night. But then, there is a full moon and a lunar eclipse. Anything can happen.

@+1, 191, looks like the beginning of a bounce, no doubt due to the greens of this morning. Will check @ +3 to see if the trend continues. He may be due a snack by then as he did not eat much at PMPS.

He is flat @ +3; cycle looks exactly like 11/13 PM where he did a slow build into a bounce by 11/14. He is eating a snack now. Will check again @ +6.
