Jill, I'm very sorry that you guys are going through this and my thoughts and prayers are with you. Loads of white lights and healing vines are being sent. Also sending an avalanche of snowflakes and blankets of snow!

I got an update from Jill this morning:

i'm overwhelmed by the love and support from LL!!!!
i've been reading everyone's posts to mike. he appreciates them as much as i do!

alex is ok. ss updated. :) i'm trying to run her higher than normal, but under the renal threshold... without developing ketones. so far, so good.

please update everyone... and thank them from the bottom of my heart. their thoughts, prayers, good wishes, etc. are helping. you have no idea how much i appreciate everyone's love and support!

She also said that Mike is undergoing many, many tests and that when he gets home, it's going to be a long haul for them. In general, I thought she sounded more upbeat today and am hoping that means Mike is getting stronger.

Please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. She will need us for moral support during Mike's healing process.

You all are so awesome....

While a long haul doesn't sound like fun, I'm glad to hear that they are talking about coming home! Continued thoughts and prayers...

Edward and I are sending lots of love and hugs to Jill and Mike and wishing them strength and courage to tackle the challenging road ahead. And Rusty says he's going to visit Alex to keep her company.

Soon I hope Mike is ready to chase the nurses out of the room and demand a pizza & milkshake. :-D

We have all here been Blessed by having a loving giving person like you here Jill.. You have helped every person in lantus land so so much!! and for all these years......Been there for all of us!

You are such a good, caring and selfless person ... so i HAVE to believe that with ALL you have done to help so many, the universe will send that back to you and your husband WILL recover. He's got you fighting by his side and he couldn't have anyone better. Keeping you both close in my thoughts and prayers and sending bunches of strong, positive healing thoughts.

Don't forget to take care of YOU, you need to stay strong!! We are all here for you as you have always been for us :).

Just a quick note:

There is no confirmation that Mike will be going home soon. Only that when he does, his recuperation there will take time so I hope I didn't get everyone's hopes up that he will be home soon. When he goes home is still TBD.

Also....on the "upbeat" part....that was just my feeling from an email. You all know Jill and she is a very positive person. And she wouldn't want us all to worry too much.

I know she is reading the posts and it gives her lots of comfort....and Mike, too. Thank you all so much.

Jill,
You have all been in our thoughts and prayers. We sent all of our snowflakes your way because I understand too well how much all of you need them. Remember to take care of yourself. It's really easy to forget that stuff when you're watching monitors, comparing numbers and test results and arguing with nurses who think they know everything about Mike and you know nothing about anything, especially him.

When things seem too much, remember that all of us are here sending you all the miracle power that is Lantus Land and FDMB. I found a little "chapel" room in the hospital where I was with my dad and would go there to listen to the silence and recenter. After two years, I still feel peace when I think of that little room. Hopefully your hospital has something similar where you can go when you need a break.

Remember....this, too, is a marathon, not a sprint.

Sending more snowflakes and all the healing power we can muster plus some.
