Well now...pink. Guess we'll see what today brings. May have to increase tomorrow.
Working on getting him an NSAID for possible arthritis pain.

Hold tight!o_O

That pink caught my attention! Is he refusing the gaba?
Yep. He took it only once night before last. Maybe I will try again at +2 to give him a smaller amount!
Caught my attention too!
I fed a food I haven't given for a while so maybe that's all that is, I don't know...
I made his 6 month blood draw appointment for December 13 so we'll be finding out soon if something else is going on.

Oh, I forgot to say to be very careful with NSAIDS and cats. They can be very tough on the kidneys- even the ones like Onsior which is approved for cats.

Oh no! I am a little worried about his kidneys. Made an appointment for 6 month blood work on December 13.
Got a small dose of gaba in him again today and it has mellowed him out. He is still growly but not attacking as much.
Thank you Suzanne!

The kidney issue is why many vets use Buprenorphine for pain control in cats because it don’t harm the kidneys. But you have to be able to get it in them! I have never used transdermal Bupe, but it should be available. If you can get a pain patch like a fentanyl patch for an animal (usually used in a hospital setting for post- surgical pain) then I don’t see why transdermal Buprenorphine can’t be obtained (even from a compounding pharmacy.).

As I recall, Wedgewood pharmacy makes a transdermal get of Buprenorphine in various strengths.
Anyway, I hope Tiger’s blood work will all come out well!
