? 11/17-BEAR- losing fur on ear (testing? photo)

Hi, weve been testing a few weeks now, and Ive noticed Bear is losing fur on his ear that we usually test.. it also looks like he has red spots near the bottom (we do aim for the sweet spot when we test). At first i thought his fur was looking sparse because of the vaseline maybe and wiping the ear after was distributing it on the back of the ear.

He also has these little red spots.. (multi cat household for reference so could be from play fighting- but its on the ear we test so a bit concerned). His ear does feel a little warm also..

Has anyone seen/experienced this before?

Can you use his other ear for a while and see if it goes away? I alternated ears to give the other one a break.

Im thinking its some sort of reaction to something.. not sure what.. the only new thing hes had as been the insulin..

I got another photo from his other ear and it seems he has a sore in that ear also

What flavours of Friskies is he getting now? Reading back, I think you said he was on chicken and rice food before diagnosis? Just wondering if some of the new food contains a protein he's allergic to.

He was on authority dry chicken and rice.. plus the friskies- so he hasn’t had any new friskies.. ive always bought the variety pack which hes eaten for a few years now
