I have a confession.
I keep going in and looking at your SS and wondering whats going on.. ( medical issues maybe - i dont know if you responded to my question yesterday) but what catches my eye is that one green that coincided with you having syringe problems.. there is something odd there. Did you do anything differently that would cause the insulin to dispense or inject differently? Or maybe you loaded the syringe differently? I dont know but I have heard one of the main reasons for insulin resistance is operator error in giving shots.. and I am NOT saying that there is here.. but it just seems like a strange coincidence. Which it might be. Just considering things... you know? Anyway just a thought.

Air bubbles maybe? How are you holding the vial? are you injecting the air out of the syringe first and then drawing in the insulin?

i was wondering if i was giving the injection badly myself, just this morning. I was going to look for some information on this site about how to properly give injections. It's definitely not on his fur - I always check and I don't find any liquid or smell the insulin, but I was wondering if maybe I wasn't injecting it deeply enough under the skin? I'm not sure if i'm doing anything wrong or not.
i do inject the air out of the syringe and then turn the vial over and draw up the insulin, then I flick the syringe to get rid of the little bubble that's usually there. I watched a video on this site (in the sticky about properly handling Lantus, I think) that taught how to draw Lantus out of a vial.
I'm sorry, i didn't answer your question yesterday - i got busy and forgot. The vet thinks Pepper may be in early Chronic Kidney Disease. And he had a DKA in July from a UTI. I keep meaning to set up a profile - honest!

Do you think I could be feeding Pepper too much? I've been looking over some other people's profiles and they seem to feed less than I do, often just 4 meals a day. Some give them at PS and +6, some give them their second meal earlier than +6, around +3 or +4. Pepper eats a lot during the day and the night he went into the greens he actually didn't eat much after his PMPS meal. Pepper likes his food!

How about you track on your SS when you feed him? We could look at a correlation then..

Last time i weighed him he weighed about 15 lbs. I think he's a little heavy, but he is a big cat. I've been trying to get him to exercise but he's not happy about it. I haul him down to the back of the yard and make him walk back to the house.
