I know no one will be able to answer me before I have to shoot, but I'll try. Last night J.D. earned a dosecrease with a 34. I was wondering if I should go down to a 1.00 unit. But, I have to shoot in 2 minutes, so I guess that's what I'll shoot.

J.D. has become a late nadir kitty (nadir around +8.5) since switching to Levemir, and his nadir last night was around +4.

Most doscreases are 0.25 units to .50 units.

Edit: docrease of a 0.25 unit looks OK from your SS

By the time I shot, I was 10 minutes late, and since he had rissen 105 points in 45 minutes, I figured he'd be safe with his regular dose today, while I'm at work. I do the reduction tonight or tomorrow morning.
I just thought that was a pretty big asking for a reduction last night, of J.D. and right now he is getting what I call a s1.25 which is just the teenist sliver of light showing between the plunger and the 1 unit mark. I think 1.00 will be fine, and easy to measure :-D but wanted others thoughts and opinions.

I haven't had much sleep, so my brain is not all that there, right now.

Ginger had the last of the HC for breakfast, and J.D. had the last of the shrimp with his breakfast.

Last night, my DBF said he (J.D.) doesn't look too good. I said that's because he was 472 this morning. He (DBF) said look at his eyes. I knew by this time J.D. was just falling. My DBF just doesn't get it :roll: I think J.D. is very healthy right now. He's at a healthy weight, has a healthy appetite, and has a glossy coat, and gets his exercise by following me around on walks outside. It's just these dang bounces.

Now I have to log off and get ready for tbp.

Wow you had a long night.
Since J.D. is a late nadir kitty (like Putty) I don't wait for a very low number to feed HC if he starts dropping early in the cycle.
I think you need to experiment but you probably could have fed a little HC or even MC at +4.5 to slow the drop. I feed a tiny bit to Putty as soon as he goes below 50 now and sometimes in the 50's to prevent him from going lower. I have noticed by doing that it prevents Putty from having those big bounces.

ECID and you know J.D. but he did earn his dosecrease and get shrimp. :mrgreen:

Morning guys! What a long night you had .. congrats on the dosecrease .. I hope this bounce clears quickly for you and you see those lower numbers again .. but not THAT low, ok J.D.? Have a great day guys!

Wow, Dyana, you certainly did have a long night last night, didn't you. How the heck are you going to function at TBP today? My mouth is open in awe, just thinking about it!! (Hope no bugs fly in there, lol)

I think you did good giving the regular dose...shooting through the rebound and doing the reduction tonight. I know you left plenty of good yummy's out for him in case he needs them - of course Ginger may have other plans for them. Spot hasn't been going too low on this .5u dose, but there are times when he goes into the 50's. When he does, I mix a little mc with some lc and give it to him as his snack. The mc helps to raise him a little bit- sometimes 30 points - and he seems to be able to maintain some good numbers. Spot doesn't bounce quite so much, not sure if it's due to this or not. Experiement with JD and see what happens.

I hope your day at TBP goes quickly and that you get to go home and get a nap in or at least head off to bed early and get some rest!

So, I didn't decrease, yet. I will tomorrow morning. Hopefully, he will let me sleep tonight. It's supposed to rain hard, so a nice sleeping weather kind of night.
My cats are waiting for me outside for their walk... bbl.
 
J.D. did some nice galloping up the hill on the way home from our walk. :-D

Good choice once again! Not a good idea with numbers like that; however, with numbers like that, you should be able to sleep the whole nice through.

Kitties out in the rain????? Mine wouldn't even think of going out in the rain!
