? 11/16 BLUE AMPS AND PMPS...SHOT OR NO SHOT?

Hey guys!
Candi's numbers are going down without insulin again. I'm happy but I'm really confused. She ate a good amount of food this evening and seems to be coasting blue. I wasn't able to get another reading this morning due to work. But I'm guess I'm just confused. I've stopped her antibiotics and her appetite is back not great but back. She ate a good enough amount this evening that I thot I could give her a 0.5u like the vet said to do this evening. But it keeps going down. Any advice or suggestions? I'm happy but trying to be cautious.

I think you did the right thing tonight. Makes me wonder if the only reason her numbers were elevated was due to infection.

Glad to hear she's eating better too! The clavamox causes nausea in a lot of cats.

I do not have syringes with 0.25 markings. I could eyeball it. I stopped the antibiotics on day 7 in the am. That's crazy about the infection if so. Thank you for ur reply. I guess I'll just wait til my original vet calls me back. I think I have scared more than educated myself these days. Again thanks!

There's no such thing as a syringe with .25 unit markings. The half unit marks are the best we can do but not all U40 syringes have half unit marks either.

One thing you can do is make up a "sample" syringe using a colored fluid so you'd have something to compare to when you try to pull up a .25 unit dose of Vetsulin.
