Watery stools again today. No bounce last night. I am doing a side by side comparison of my GE100 and the OneTouch Ultra. I realized we had never done that, but use them interchangeably. I like the GE100 cause it's cheaper, but when my mom needs to test him for me, she uses the OneTouch cause she feels like it needs less blood. So I am testing a high number (his +2) and I will test his nadir. All the other tests I will only use one, most likely the GE100.

*Edit: OneTouch +2 was 385; GE100 +2 was 372

i'm not familiar with the GE glucometer, but there are several people here that use the One Touch. You'll find that even if you use 2 different strips on the same drop of blood, you can have 2 different numbers. Most people suggest picking one meter and staying with it so that you don't go crazy with it.

There is a link on the "New to the Group" sticky about Consumer Reports evaluation of glucometers. I don't see the GE one listed, but the One Touch is considered pretty good.

i don't think i've "met" you yet so i just wanted to say welcome to Lantus Land. How are you doing with Mocha?

Thank you Julie  It's getting easier the more I learn. The most trouble I am having with him right now is diarrhea. Unfortunately I agreed to the Covenia shot before I knew its history and my vet didn't say anything. So, here we are with diarrhea. But we are going into the vets Monday. Hopefully they will have solution for that. As for the GE, it's a Walmart brand. We picked it up because I was having trouble stomaching the cost of the OneTouch, but now my mom doesn't like it. I think it's fine, and use it 9 times out of 10. So most of my readings are the GE. I just wanted to make sure it was close to the OneTouch since it isn't in the consumer reports.

Well, anyways the question of the day is, do I up his does? I am thinking I should. I think I should go up to 1.25 since the plump 1 didn't do much this week.
