Sorry for the late update. I got to visit her this morning. We had a good visit, but I could tell she just feels like crap. But we got to snuggle and hug and she told me she loves all of you too and she doesn't hate me, it's just like you all said, she's just sick.

After our visit I got to my--I mean that horrible--store and have just been hammered by one bunch of BS after another all day. My lease isn't up for another 13-1/2 months but I am seriously considering begging the landlord to let me out at the end of this year. So I couldn't update til just now, I am so sorry. I did take some pix of me and Tawny this a.m. and I will try to get them posted when I get to the house in a couple of hours.

I just talked to an intern at the clinic, Dr. Amanda, Tawny is getting anti-nausea meds, s/thg called anzamet (sp?), she has a little bit of a temp right now but that may be from the urine infection and what the dr. described as "a little pancreatitis". I know last week they said her pancreatitis test came back in the "gray" area.

Also they switched her from Clavamox to Baytril to try to get this urine infection out of her.

Her BGs are running in the middle 300s so they upped her dose today to 2u. She is eating S/O (dry food) so that is going to affect her #s tremendously. And I agree with what everyone has been saying, the important thing right now is to get her to eat, even if it is s/thg covered with hot fudge! Just eat, baby, just eat. The doc said she was eating really really good. We (me & all of you) will deal with her LC diet etc. when I get her back home. If she needs to eat S/O for awhile that's what she'll eat.

I will update more later.

Thanks everyone. Keep the healing wishes and prayers coming please.

Hi Desi, That's a pretty good report for your beautiful girl. I'm sure they'll be able to get all her problems under control soon. We are thinking good thoughts, sending prayers, healing vines and white light. And lots of strength for you to cope with all that you have on your plate. I'm so sorry the store is causing anxiety just when Tawny is having this emergency. Perhaps the landlord will take all of this into account and allow you to break the lease without penalty.
Be brave and hang in there. We are all with you.

Prayers, Healing White Light and Snowflakes being sent for Tawny to feel much better tomorrow.

Thinking of you both. I hope tomorrow finds Tawny and the situation at your store, much improved. (((Desi & Tawny)))

That is a good antinausea medication. Will they send you home with some? I wonder if they've given it all along but haven't sent you home with any. Is she on bupe for mild pancreatitis also? (not metacam).

Sending hugs.

Glad to hear the update- seems like a mixed bag- I'll keep you and Tawney in my thoughts and prayers!

sending you huggies, lovies, sloppy kisses from binks to Tawny...
and prayers, white light, and healing energy!

if it's not to forward to ask, what kind of store, Desi?
(fully understand if you'd rather not answer)

Karrie, I will ask them about sending some of that anti-nausea med home w/me. And it seems like one of them did say s/thg about bupe or metacam, I am such a moron when it comes to this medical terminology--I have mostly worked for lawyers, that stuff I understand, this medical stuff gets me every time--and I was standing in the hall talking to a tech and didn't write it down, I will ask in the morning when I talk to them.

So, me being the medical moron that I am, I am curious, why not metacam (whatever that is!)?

I don't mind anyone asking...it's a convenience store and gas station. The Mom & Pop kind, not the big-name chain kind. It's a cool business to be in but I guess my timing was off, business is just so bad for everyone everywhere. I know it's not just me, but man, it's hard. It's just not supposed to be this hard (says I and just about everyone else on the planet!) So as soon as I can, I'm bailing.

Hands down, this is a picture that could heal the world! How cute! I will definitely show it to Tawny and I just know along with all of Binky's huggies, lovies and sloppy kisses she is gonna feel better immediately!

That has got to be one of the cutest pix of all time!

Thank you for making me smile.

OH!!! my first regional mgr position was with gas stations/convenience stores!
they are the toughest types of locations to run, hands down!

I feel for you...

Desi,

Meatcam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that can cause acute kidney failure in cats. The FDA has recently required a special "black box" label on the instructions warning about this, and thus requiring that vets get an owner's informed consent before using it. If asked, I suggest you turn it down. There are other appropriate pain meds for cats.

I always tell my vet "No Covenia, No Metacam."

Continued well wishes and prayers.

It's a good, positive update. My healing vines and positive thoughts are continuing for you all. Looking forward to more updates. Thank you, Desi. :YMHUG: Hang in there, hon. You're doing great! You both are.
