Good morning LL!

I called the hospital at 5:30 this morning. They had just given Tarragon his shot and he was at 300. He is eating from the smorgasbord they set up for him. The dr said he was acting like he felt good and they would recheck his ketones and potassium levels at 8 am so I will know more around 9. They think that he has an ulcer from all of the years he was on steroids. Hopefully the pepcid helped with that and the antibiotics they have in his iv will speed things along as well. From the sounds of it, I will be picking him up this afternoon on my way home from work. They have been so great and I know that he is in good hands.

Charlie is the same. He wasn't limping when I got home, but started limping later in the night after laying under his blanket. This morning he was up and moving with no limp. I am sure it is just arthritis and I need to up his Adequan. Turnup was a mess in the night, probably because Tarragon was gone. The animals never sleep well if one is missing.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! We all really appreciate it.

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Hospital update

Great report! I hope the ABs and pepcid combo works magic and Mr. T is back to normal in no time!

I can relate to Charlie's arthritis, I feel a little limpy myself some mornings. I hope the Adequan helps.

Poor Turnup misses his buddy; all will be well tonight!

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Hospital update

I'm so relieved to see your great report on Tarragon. Poor Charlie and Turnup! I know things get all topsy-turvy if I just take one to the vet for a visit; I can only imagine what it's like to have one stay overnight.

Continued "speedy recovery" prayers!!

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Hospital update

I'm so glad to hear that Tarragon has made great improvement!!! This is terrific news!!!

Praying that Charlie can get around better without much pain. Hang in there Charlie, you have a wonderful MommaBean.

:YMHUG: to you all. I hope that you have a great Tuesday, girl. Hang in there.

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Hospital update

Thanks for the update Melissa. We're glad to hear good news. Thinking of you and the critters today.

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Hospital update

Praying hard that Tarragon comes home tonight. I bet the other animals miss him as do you.
Hope Charlie feels better too. You must be frazzled from all the worry. Take care

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Hospital update

That's a great report. We all so hope Mr. T is home tonight and that the tummy upset is easily managed. Thanks for stopping to see Tess while all this is going on. Tell Charlie to take it easy too. Skritches all around!

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Hospital update

I'm hoping that Tarragon will be home with you tonight. I bet he misses all of you as much as you miss him and Turnup will rest good tonight. Poor Charlie. Unfortunately our furries aren't spared that dreaded arthritis, huh.

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Hospital update

Melissa, you might want to check out the discussion on Tifil's condo today by Marje about managing the curve with food. I think it's a lot easier with a cat with a good appetite. Interesting that the bouncy cats that I know (Zener, Tarragon and Jetta) all have appetite issues. Or maybe I just sympathize more with bouncy cats with poor appetite.

(((Melissa))) Sending more healing vines and prayers for your sweet Tarragon. I know you can't wait to bring him home. Hold on Turnup, your brother will be home soon, and all will be okay! I hope Charlie's arthritis calms down. It's so hard to see them in pain. Hugs

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Hospital update

Great report! I hope Mr T is ready to come home tonight. It is always so great to know that they are in good hands when at the vetty hospital, it sure relieves the worry. Be well Tarragon! Turnup will be glad to have him home. Hope things are better for Charlie today too.

Great report on your doggie. Do you have a heated bed for him? I just found out they make big flat ones. Maybe I learned this from you though - it was someone here.

When maverick had his pegtube surgery they put him on a white chalky thick milkshake like mixture to protect his stomach. They had to open his stomach up twice. It started with an S and for the life of me I can't remember what it is. And its used for ulcers. What is the name of it?

Sending hugs.

Re: 11/15 Tarragon AMPS 300 Home

We are home. Tarragon is acting like his normal purry self asking Charlie to clean him up. No ketones and his appetite is good. Thank you all for your healing vines. Once again they worked wonders.

That's so great Tarragon is home and acting well. Looks like some fine numbers too. Hopefully everyone sleeps well tonight now that the whole crew is back together.

wow, the things i missed by working 2 days! i didn't know tarragon had an emergency, but YAY on the coming home tonight! he's sure been through a lot. let's hope this vettie visit is the last one for a while!

hugs to you melissa! it's hard having our little ones not feeling good.

ps, it was punkin that got a heated flat bed. if you want the info, pm me and i'll find it. it's like a big flat heating pad with a fleece cover top and bottom. not especially cushy, just warm.

I read about Charlie and Tarragon yesterday and have been so worried about them both. I'm so glad things have turned around!!! You and Tarragon have been through enough if you ask me!!
