11/15 Ozzie update AMPS 322

OK - many of you may not understand but I'm scared to jinx my little guy by saying he's doing okay and then next thing you know - well you know! I say to myself "If I'm on top of everything by knowing and learning everything then I can circumvent stuff that happens to Ozzie, but the reality is that is okay for "old-timers and the experts" b/c you guys have been thru the worse and know an awful lot which vets seemingly don't even know about - that is called "experience". The true reality is I'm - we - Ozzie and I are on a wing and a prayer and getting thru it one day at a day - each day I wake up and look over to see how he is...each day, dare I say he is showing signs of improvement. He is running and literally jumping w/ joy on his favorite chair to look out the window. His numbers are improving but he is on 2 diff doses which is going to be become 2.25 units (as long as I do not imbibe before administering lol) drinking09 AM/PM after I speak to the vet today. Neg ketones, a totally different guy from 3 weeks ago...I'm wondering if he was suffering w/ his pancreatitis for a while and b/c I'm stupid and not on the ball I didn't notice this.
So many wonderful ppl offer words of encouragement and sane, sage guidance - where do you guys learn all this??? I thank you all as does Ozzie. I will continue to post but w/ trepidation & reservation and worry that I am being over confident in my little boy's return to his old self -- just now to get those numbers down to a safer level.
My prayers and thoughts are for Tawny and Tarragon and all the other babies -- healing, loving vines to all.

You are not stupid! No one was born with the knowledge of how to do what each of us (you included) do every day. And I don't think I am over reaching to say we are all (newbies like you and me as well as the more experienced ones) still learning. The best anyone can do about any situation is to start with what you have and do what you can to get where you need to be. We're all in it together.

There is no better report than that Ozzie is feeling better! That is due to you.
 
Hello Lauren!! I just had to peek at Ozzie's sheet. Great job on the ss! You got it up and running and it looks great. I see Ozzie started off yellow this morning (11/16), which is a huge step. I really think doing 2.5 U both shots will make a big difference.

Hugs to you Lauren. You are doing great and Ozzie loves you for it.
 
Hi guys .. all I can say is that I've been on this board for over two years now and STILL learn new things each day! And I can say I'm eternally grateful for never being laughed at for asking the same question over and over and over again .. well, they could of laughed offline but still :-D
