If the tap was the source, hopefully, it's tiny and will heal quickly.

Ten minutes isn't bad...even 25 is not too bad. One thing the vets told me was to try and get some rest (easy for them to say) while they cared for her. I know it's very hard but......I hope you can.
 
Awww I hate that Neko is still at the vet:(...even though they sound like they are giving her great care I want her home with her beans feeling better. I hope that the leak will heal fast and you can coax some fuds into her. Many prayers and vines continue...:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Had to come check on my favorite Neko! Fingers crossed that it was a slight nick from the fluid draining yesterday and that it is healing even at this moment. Piling on more healing vines to your sweet girl. A little lamburgini sounds tempting! I hope it was.

Sorry they had to keep your sweet girl another night, but hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day and she'll be coming home to her loving mamabean!!

I just got back from a two hour visit. She's way better than this morning, and now is in a "double wide" oxygen kennel, so room to stretch. She got up a few times while I was there and we had some good scritches. She was looking like she really needed sleep. Unfortunately the oxygen kennels are in the dog section, but the whiny Boston near her was about to get sent home. Neko ate a little bit for me, first meal in a day and a half. I had a good chat with the nurse, did the TFS and left a syringe for tomorrow. I also got to try using the AT to compare - I don't like it!

Tonight will be key to see how she does, whether the fluid and gas stays away from around her lungs. I got a look at the X-rays - there was quite a bit of gas. I talked to the IM vet and the ICU vet again. It's a mystery how she got the gas, the taps were done with a catheter, so no sharp bits. And it was the experienced cardio vet who did the driving yesterday. Just like Neko, likes to be different. Apparently her symptoms were not classic pneumothorax either. :rolleyes:

I am going to try to sleep in tomorrow, but right now another cat is insisting I make a lap. DH made a lovely Indian dinner.
 
Just want her home with you... :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: prayers my friend -- that this will all be over soon and your girl will be home with you once more.
 
So relieved that she is looking better this evening. Hope Neko gets some rest when that noisy drooler goes home. Continuing vines for further improvement I hope she is well enough to come home very soon:bighug::bighug:

Just checking in this morning to see how Neko fared overnight - and keeping paws crossed that the fluid and gas stay away. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy return home for sweet Neko. Stay strong (((Wendy))) :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I am so glad there is an improvement in Neko's condition. She would have enjoyed a visit from you. Yay on eating some food! Sending more vines for continuing improvement.

I know it's scary, but to me, all of these things sound pretty positive. No cancer. They've identified the source of the problem. Rapid improvement after releasing some of the gas. Increased activity. Eating a bit. Being lovey.

Hoping for the best and wishing sweet Neko continued improvement!
