thanks for getting those night time checks last night! did ya survive? ;-) i remember the pain of having to get up to check punkin during the night. if you're able to do it again tonight that would let us know if she's ready for an increase, or if not, a mid-day check tomorrow.

and a blue amps this morning . . . that's great.

by the way, when you put in anything else in the cell on the ss, like an asterisk, it won't automatically color the cell. you can do it by clicking on that cell, then look above the "pmps" column at the top. there's an icon that looks like a science beaker pouring something (to me, at least!). when you click there you can choose a color to fill the cell with.

It's just a handy thing to use to still have the cells color coded.

hi elizabeth!

One of the things we look at is how many points per hour a cat is dropping. When you check her preshot, say last night's 397 and then the +2 with a 255, that's a drop of 142 points in 2 hrs, or 71 per hour. That's pretty significant, especially for that early in the cycle. We don't know yet when Mary Grace's nadir might typically be, but many cats nadir is somewhere around 5-7 hrs after their shot. If Mary Grace kept up that rate for another 3 hrs, that would've been another drop of 213 at +5, with a resulting BG of 42.

Some cats hit their nadir between +2 and +3, but many are later in the cycle.

You might want to do the math when you get a +2, figuring out the number of BG points dropped per hour to help you figure out when to test next. it's too bad cats don't have a continuous monitor, isn't it?! that would be so great! cat_pet_icon

hope you're having a great week!

Thanks Julie for the color tip on the ss! I also got a lot of numbers this weekend. It seems she is totally out by the 11th hour. I would love to know what you think.
I took one of my civvies, Tyger in for his annual and had blood work done--perfect! :-D :-D
Hope you guys are having a good weekend!
