Looking good there buddy!!! I don't blame you for not liken the cold either. But you can't cook momma out either.

Aw I feel for ya girl in the same boat here gotta keep the house warmer than I like for Autumn's sake. Because I can't explain to her menopause is the reason mom can never say she's chilly. roflmao

I hear ya! Past menopause, it's the Graves Disease that makes me very heat sensitive. I'm sleeping like it's summer time, covers only on my feet, fan on my face. If it keeps his pain level and BG's down, I'll deal.

You know I NEVER cook, I woke up craving a pecan waffle. I have a old fantastic Dominion waffle iron and pecans! It's cooking as we speak.

oh that sounds yummy!!! I love waffles but alas I lack a waffle iron. But been craving pancakes and maple sausage.

Re: 11/15 Lucian AMPS 191

Not as good as my scratch waffles, used a mix, but it knocked that craving out the window. :thumbup In all my years making waffles, I never used a mix, it' so simple to make from scratch. But since it's just me and only needed 1 waffle, I figured I'd used the 'pancake and waffle' mix I had. The same reason I bought it, to make 1 pancake with eggs, just for me. It's like a once a month thing.

Just as I was taking it out of the waffle maker, here comes the property manager for inspection. :o I told her, you don't think this is going to effect my waffle eating do you? I sat at the table, had my breakfast and let them do their thing. Which was nothing. She sat on the couch, asked me if my windows were hard to open (YES, they are 15 feet high and weigh over 100lbs) and the maintenance guy put a new flapper in the toilet tank. Apparently the water bill has doubled from this time last year, our water is included, so the head guy said to replace all the flappers and see if it helps. If not, there must be an underground leak. There aren't any leaks in the building. I know, once in a while, maybe 2-3 times a week, I'd hear my toilet fill, like it had lost a tiny bit of water, so I know my flapper wasn't sealing perfectly all the time. Multiply that by 54 apts. Could be an issue.
I also insist they bring me several air filters. They only change them 2-3 times a year. WRONG! I change mine every month, keeps the electric bill down, less wear and tear on the unit and cleaner air inside. I smoke and have 3 cats, come on! I have to change it every month. You'd think they'd insist on changing all of them monthly. Clogged filters put extreme stress on the unit=more repairs.
Speaking of smoking.........I have 1.5 packs left and bought a supply of cheap E-cigs. I'm not going to buy more smokes when they are gone, gonna try to get off the smokes, even if it means getting my nic fix electronically. No different from patches or gum, nicotine is nicotine no matter how you get it. Son calls yesterday, says he picked up a BLU cig. Didn't know I just bought him a kit. The BLU is disposable and that gets expensive, these are rechargeable and refillable. Will get up with him this weekend to give them to him and get my Saints jersey he bought me. :-D Since I order direct from China (where they all come from anyway) It is very cheap, but takes like 3 weeks to get here, but free shipping. For $10 I have enough e-cigs and refills to last a month. Much cheaper than smokes. If I can get thru a week with no smokes, just e-cigs, I'll order more. Maybe a better quality, these are the cheapest that aren't disposable. Heck, the disposables cost more. Although these aren't the best quality, I've used them before and they are sufficient. I just want to make sure I can do it, before spending anything more. Even the better quality ones are still cheaper than smokes and don't have the cancer/illness causing 4000+ added chemicals like smokes have. It's nicotine only. Keep fingers crossed for me, smoking is the only health issue I have any control over and that's limited. :o It's the only thing I can change, is what I mean. And that's debatable.

Re: 11/15 Lucian AMPS 191

I've been thinking about going the e-cig route myself. Since I have a horrible reaction to the patch and a lot of my addiction is the needing something to do with my hands. I would love to give them up for good and do get pretty far with the patch but then run out of places that aren't raised itchy red circles to stick them. lol

Ladies, I understand the difficulty of kicking the smoking habit. Fortunately, after a horrible bout of bronchitis, laryngitis because of all the coughing, I decided to kick the habit for the 4th or 5th time. This one finally stuck. Been nicotine free 30+ years now. It ain't easy, but it was worth it.

Have some permanent scarring and prone to bouts of inflammation and bronchitis and laryngitis to this day. This winter, I lost my voice, couldn't even whisper, for 2 weeks and then got voice volume back very, very slowly over the next 3 months. On those damp days, I still sound a little gravelly like Lauren Bacall or Marlene Dietrich my friends tell me. ;-) I can be talking on the phone and my voice suddenly drops down to nothing and then back up again for the next few words. No fun.

So glad I did not have the smoking on top of this. I probably would have never had my voice return.

Do you know how difficult it is to call someone to come plow your driveway because a blizzard dropped 2 feet of snow in your driveway and you are bedridden with a 102 degree fever and other flu symptoms, trying to talk on the phone and be understood when you can barely whisper? Or work in a retail store and you can't talk loud enough for customers to understand you or to answer the phone? Believe me, the idea of losing my voice again does not appeal to me at all.

My goodness Deb! You must have a delicate voice box. Take care of that. That must be miserable. I feel bad for you. :YMHUG:

Mel, I've used the e-cigs before, but not 100%. I couldn't smoke in a rental car for a week, so I used them on a road trip, but would still smoke a few a day outside the car and hotel. I'm trying to go 100% electronic. And it's been 4 whole hours since I had a real cig! That's a major thing, considering I smoke a couple packs a day. :o From 2pm yesterday to 1pm today, I smoked that 1/2 pack. I have an unopened pack and I'm gonna try to keep it that way. I started using them as soon as I got them out of the mailbox.

NOW! 63 huh? Didn't see that coming! :o
