I called Monoject this morning because almost 2/3s of my syringes are off on where the plunger meets the "0" line. All three of my boxes are the same lot #. Monoject is sending me one replacement box for the one opened and ADW is taking the other two, unopened boxes back. MJ said this is not usual but I know some of you have noticed the same thing with your MJ syringes.

While I had ADW on the line, I asked them about the Terumo, U100, .3cc, 31g, 3/8" syringes on their website that Christie found. The link is below:
Terumo insulin syringe

At first they told me they were not 1/2 unit marking but then the customer service rep actually went and got a box and called me back and they are half-unit marking. They said they are going
to fix their website to show they are 1/2-unit marking. They are $13.09/box of 100 as opposed to the MJs which are +$15/box 100.

I hope this helps. I did ask Julie if her Terumos had any consistency problems and she said "a few".

I'm also hoping that changing syringes won't affect dosing....little nervous about that but I'm going to check the Terumos before I start using them to see if they are accurately marked.

I've never given any thought to looking at the syringe before drawing up a dose. I'm using MJ's right now because the Relion's were driving me crazy (the plunger would stick after drawing in the insulin so I couldn't even twist it down to the correct dosage...I would end up squirting past the correct dose and having to redraw). I think I'll go through my box of MJ's to see how they look.

i'm going to place an order next.

the box of terumos that i have (different model, whole unit markings) i think i counted 18 total, with 15 spot on with good consistent 0 lines, 2 that were a shade off and 1 that was clearly off. i've never even looked at the syringe before using it. the more fine-dosing you do the more important that would be - especially for those of you measuring drops.

the thing i like best about the terumos is that the plunger is very smooth-moving. if you like a little resistance, then this might not be the right syringe for you.

reminding people that you can save some money by registering with mrrebates.com - register there, then go to the ADW site through the mrrebates site and you get 4% rebate on any ADW purchases. i just got a $25 check from mrrebates (all punkin's diabetic supplies) and i know there's another $35 or so that's too recent to get my rebate check yet, but it's coming. it adds up.

Hey ya'll....please note that my earlier post inadvertently had a link to the 1cc syringe. I have fixed it now.....it's now for the 3/10cc which is what we need to use. Sorry!!
