Good morning LL!

All 5 p's present. Tarragon has been doing well with no coughing at all. Yay! He has been lovey dovey and purry all weekend. He is still running high. We went down from 2 predisone a day to 1 a day today so hopefully that will help. I am ready to up his dose again depending on what his BG is tonight.

I wasn't able to get a chance to get a condo up all weekend. It was a crazy weekend with a company holiday party Saturday night at the Hard Rock Casino and issues with Charlie, our lab. Charlie tore his CCL (like a human ACL) on his knee two years ago. He had two surgeries and 8 weeks of physical therapy and still limps when he overdoes it on that knee. He has been pretty sore with the change in weather since he has a lot of arthritis in that knee. Yesterday he came up lame on his good knee. ohmygod_smile :shock: :sad: I am just holding my breath that he just overdid it and didn't tear his good CCL but only time will tell. I spent most of the day massaging and icing both of his knees and trying to keep him from following me everywhere. When they did his first surgery they botched it and the second surgery was just as bad. $10K later, I don't think I can go through this again. Poor guy. Send a little prayer for my big old sweetie if you get a chance. Thank you for letting me vent.

Hi guys ... yay on no coughing this weekend tarragon! I hope reducing the meds will bring him down as well .. So sorry to hear about charlie :sad: Sending lots and lots of positive thoughts your way that he just over did it .. take it easy big guy .. have a great day!

Hi Melissa, sending lots of healing vines and prayers for Charlie that it isn't his good knee that's giving him trouble. The weather can be so hard on our pets when they have joint problems. I hope the massage and icing has given him some relief. Give him some hugs from us. Glad to hear no coughing for Tarragon and he's feeling all lovey and dovey. Take care of yourself, too, Melissa. Poor Charlie! I hope the good knee is still good! I'm sending a prayer for him.

Good no coughing report for Mr. T! I hope being able to decrease his med will help bring down his bgs.

Sending tons of prayers for Charlie, and I pray that he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Also, hoping that Tarragon comes down for you, and surfs in da blues. Hear that Tarragon? Blues, please.

Charlie, we hope your good knee is getting better and better today. Rusty is sending you some healing vines to wrap around it.

So glad to hear that Tarragon's cough has gone away and that he is feeling good. Keep up the good work, T., and let's have some nice blue numbers today, OK?

oh my on Charlie... poor guy! Mannie and I send good vibes his way, and hope that it is nothing serious... poor pup! paws crossed for you.

God news on Mr T's cough - YAY! and what a relief huh. Hoping for good numbers for Tarragon today - yellow is not too bad. maybe some blues today Mr T?

Hi Melissa, I'm glad to see your condo today. I saw that T has been high lately so I'm really glad to see his better numbers today and his coughing is gone. Yeah! Hope the reduced pred helps some more. Poor Charlie, hope he's feeling better too. Have a great day!

So glad to hear that Tarragon's coughing is doing so much better. Hopefully reducing the pred will bring his numbers back down.

Dear Charlie, I know how you feel as I have all sorts of arthritis & in my knees too-Some times when I hurt with the bad one, the good one starts to ache too- from overusing!!Sending Prayers for both your knees to feel much better by tomorrow--Sweet dear doggie!! Hugs!!

Glad Tarragon is coming down..looking good today & steroids we know raise the bg--

We are at ER right now so I will post real quick. Tarragon didn't eat much at supper and was acting very lethargic and hovering around the water bowl. I tested for ketones on a hunch and he registered low. I brought him in to try and catch it quick since he has been on the prednisone. I'll keep you posted on what the dr says.

Good that you took Tarragon right in to the vet, Melissa. We trust that he will be fine and are sending lots of healing vines and thinking good thoughts for him. (thinking of Charlie, too)

Oh, Melissa, I'm so sorry to hear about Tarragon but you were so quick to get him. Great that you two have a connection and can tell when he isn't acting right. Sending lots of healing vines and prayers to you, Tarragon and Charlie.
 
Tarragon is spending the night at the hospital. He is not in DKA at this point thankfully. His BUN is elevated at 52 but creatin is normal. They think he must have an ulcer or some GI bleeding from all the years on steroids. He is on an IV and they are adding potassium and antibiotics to it. They are giving him pepcid for his tummy. They think 24 hours is all it will take. Thank you for all your good thoughts. We appreciate it.
 
Oh Melissa, how frightening and what a great job you did to get him to the ER so quickly. It's like everyone says here in LL - know thy cat - and you surely do! I'm glad it is something that is treatable and his stay in hospital will be short. We all have our paws crossed for Mr T getting home soon to his ever lovin' bean very soon.
 
Sending more healing vines for Tarragon who we all love!!!! HOpe he will feel much better and can come home tomorrow.

(((Melissa))) I logged off early and, I'm just reading this about your sweet Tarragon. Many healing vines and prayers that Tarragon is okay. You are really in tune with him and got him the medical help right away. Will be waiting to hear a good report this morning. Hugs.

Hey Mr T. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. Will send you some of my special curry soup....but not make it too spicy foe ya since your tummy is hurting. Sid said she hopes ya feel better soon big guy. She saw your photo inthe calendar we got yesterday....her exact words were "what a stud muffin". ~ curry
 
Melissa, I was off line all day yesterday and just checking in. It is a good thing you brought Tarragon in, it is the best place for him. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.
