Neko is at the IM vet, getting X rays and b/w. Vetty suspects CHF and effusion (fluid) but not sure where. We may have to start a short course or more of Lasix. :nailbiting::nailbiting: Which of course is hard on the kidneys. No more fluids and chemo is off the schedule for now. Worst case, depending on amount and location of fluids is a chest tap. Poor pumpkin, I had so hoped she wouldn't have to spend time at the.vets office. She has only eaten half her breakfast and looking like she'll be heading down. Vines appreciated.

Still thinking of Elise. As much as we love our fur babies, it's not the same as family.

Wendy I am sorry Neko is having to have X-rays and blood work done. I hope the news is good and any issues can be easily treated. Please keep us posted.
Sending a plane load of vines to dear Neko and many hugs to you and DH
:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Praying for good news here, too. Come on, Neko, ditch the vettybean and head out to the Full Beaver Moon Party!

Wendy, I hope all will be OK. Sending vines, vines, vines.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

(((Wendy))) not what I wanted to read :( If it is fluid I hope it can be taken care of with just a small dose of Lasix for a bit and no tapping required. Tunneling all the vines and prayers that can be sent for your girl. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

It's pleural effusion. Meaning fluid around, not in the lungs. It can be caused by several things. Heart disease and lymphoma are two, vetty mentioned another. My brain didn't register it. My choice was a tap and bring her home feeling better tonight, or go home with Lasix and cross our fingers but it would take longer. They can sample the fluid to see if it's cancer. :( But the most important thing is helping her breathe better. The fluid may come back and we may just be buying time. But I want it to be quality time for my little girl.

I have to wait another three hours for the next update. Poor Neko, she stresses at the vet. They will have to repeat the X-rays because the fluid was obscuring things. I am guessing PMPS will be late tonight.

Again, please send vines for the procedure to be successful, there is always some risk.

So SO So many vines and prayers your way- and surrounding Neko in so so so much light and love. She is in amazing hands- and they will take care of her the best that they can!! Seeing a successful procedure and clear of fluid xrays tonight!

Will be with you all night in my thoughts! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I can imagine how worried you must feel. Thank goodness she is getting the best possible care from experts in their field. Sending many many more vines for a successful procedure and good news about the fluid sample, and easier breathing for Neko.
Keeping you in my thoughts, and watching for updates.
:bighug::bighug::bighug:

When you have your kitty sent to the vet for health issue it's hard. For those kitties
where their health is and has been for a long time fully dependent to their care takers,
it's something others can't understand.

We are all with you Wendy, it's very difficult to accept that what we've been working
on for years, the health of our furry friends, is compromised.

Hold Neko in your harms and enjoy the moment.

Will all pray and wish for the very best.

((Wendy))

Sending lots of prayers, positive energy and :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: for Neko and you

In true Neko fashion, look at the PMPS after the "stress" and injected Lasix which is supposed to raise her BG. :rolleyes: She did only get half of breakfast this morning. She was keen to eat when we got home - no wonder! I did a BCS tonight. Both of us need our sleep, though the BCS may not help.

They removed 145 ml of liquid. Fot those not on metric, there are 250 ml in a cup, so that's quite a bit. The cardiologist assisted with the procedure. Love that all the resources are there if needed. She got a shot of Lasix, and we are starting an every other small dose to see how it goes. It's a liquid, because all the pills they had there are too big. Results from bloodwork, urinalysis, X-rays and analysis of the liquid come tomorrow. For tonight, I'm going to follow the vetty's recommendation of "a quiet night". On the up side, she does seem a little brighter tonight. On the down side, I'm going to have to call her Patches. More shaving, and it doesn't grow back.

So glad to hear Neko is home safe and sound:)
Wow that was quite a bit of fluid for a kitty wasn't it? No wonder she was uncomfortable with her breathing.
Sending another plane load of vines for good results tomorrow.
Love the PMPS and the fact she was hungry!
Hope you can both get a good night's sleep
:bighug::bighug::bighug:

So glad you are both home! And that she was hungry!
Sending wished for a peaceful night and deep sleep!

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!
:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Was watching to see how you both made out and that you made it home..... im so sorry about your day.... i hope tonight you both get some rest and some cuddles in ..... praying for good news tomorrow... you are giving her everything remember that... from the outside we can all see how much you love her... and i know she knows and feels it too... healing, comfort, bravery, and rest thoughts being sent your way for you both :bighug::bighug::bighug:

She's in critical care. An hour or so after dinner, her breathing deteriorated, got very wet sounding. She was disoriented but I thought at first it was the sedation. At one point she came into the dining room and did a huge gasp, lying on her side. She was having difficulty breathing again and foaming. So back we are, the clinic has critical care and I think they are putting her on oxygen. I was worried about her BG so did a quick test, can't remember the exact time number but it was the 400's. Her body is not happy. Thank goodness the clinic is just 10 minutes away.

(((((((Oh Wendy)))))))
I am so sorry to hear Neko is in critical care. Thank goodness you were awake and were able to help her. It must be about 11 pm there at the moment. I know how worried you are feeling. Are you able to stay with her?
Please know we are all with you in spirit.
Sending mega vines to dear Neko.
:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yes, it is 11 PM. The ER vet is talking to the IM vet. Neko is also nauseous so they have given her something for that. I haven't asked yet about going to see her in back. I will at some point. They have had three cats come in the last hour so are busy. DH is with me.

Wendy, I am so sorry that your baby girl is in Criticsl Care. Piling on mega vines and good thoughts and virtual hugs for you. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

That is good they are talking to the IM vet. They are very caring aren't they? I'm glad Neko got something for the nausea. That will be one less thing for her to deal with.
They must be busy with three cats in the last hour.
Thinking of you and hoping Neko starts to feel better soon.
