Good Morning all,
This morning, I found Jessica peeing on the couch. Day before yesterday, she poo on the couch too but on difference location.
Could someone tell me how to avoid that?
She regain much of strenght of her back leg. Don't know why she doing that? Is there any emotion problem with her?

My civvie Ginger, did that for a while. First, I took her to the vet to make sure there was no medical problem.
She would do it right in front of me. I would see her scratching on the couch, like she was digging a hole in the litter then she would quickly turn around and starting peeing on the couch :o Because I caught her in the act, I would say one loud word and she would run. I would take the covering off the couch and spray and saturate both the foam or whatever is on the inside along with the covering with cat pee odor be gone products and then add some product that was supposed to deter them from going there again. I would have to air the cushions out for about 12 hours while they dried. Eventually Ginger stopped doing that. But, I think it was emotional with her. J.D. gets most of the attention, and she looks at me with sad half closed eyes, so I started to give her more attention.
I would rule out a medical issue first, and then try to figure out a way to get Jessica to pee where she's supposed to.
Best of luck to you. I know it is super frustrating, but you can get through this.

Hi guys .. hmm, no advice on the peeing from me .. Definitely make sure there is no infection .. once a cat associates pain with a box, they tend to go elsewhere .. Mocha does poop outside the box but she does that when she is mad at us .. she will do it one foot directly in front of the box any time we've upset her, if we're late coming home, late with food, won't go and play with her, etc. Thankfully that's all she does as pee smell is very hard to get rid of ... Good luck!

if it was just pee, i'd think bladder infection. but that she pooped on the sofa too makes me unsure.

i think the advice to get her checked by a vet to rule out any infection is good. if there's no infection, then it might be behavioral. as weird as it sounds, i might put a box on the sofa (cover the sofa first) and then see if she'll use the box, then gradually move it back to where it belongs.

do you think she's stressed? There is a Feliway diffuser that emits the hormones that say "happy cats are here." you plug it in the area. it's around $45, so kinda expensive. I bought the spray can instead (around $10) and really can't tell that it does anything. Not sure i can recommend it but i know others have had good luck with the diffuser. Those are available at pet stores.

Thanks to all.
I will bring to the Vet to check if she has any urinary infection.
Now, I cover the couch with plastic bag and I put a window screem on top of that.
Hope she won't pee or poo again.
