What a good girl!! Gabby surfed blue right into the morning. She was all, "Scratch my belly." at bedtime. This morning, she's all about, "Feed me." The kitties were adorable -- lots of mutual headbutting and face washing this morning.

Looks like Gabby could be on a good path this morning.
Cuteness delivery means foods are a coming.

Sienne, I hope this is okay to ask here, but others might be interested also.

You told us that a houseguest had left dental floss that Gabby got into. It led to her having surgery.
Would you mind telling me/us, how you came to know she had it in her? What symptoms?

I ask, because Clancy chews on everything that is stringy, or frayed. He chews carpet edges, the carpet on the cat trees, and on and on. There is no way to stop him.......I'm very worried about this. I can't spray the entire house with Bitter Apple etc.

I don't know what symptoms to watch for.
Thank you in advance for your answer........please!!!

Barb:

She was vomiting repeatedly. It was to the point that she was vomiting up bile. (You'll know it's bile. It's a mustardy yellow and smelly.) They initially thought she had gastritis since the x-rays showed nothing and gave her something to quiet her stomach. (It was a lot of years ago and I don't remember what she was given.) She was still vomiting the next day and I brought her back. The vet at the ER must have sedated her and they examined her mouth and found a bit of floss wedged in her teeth. She called to tell me when I was enroute home. Gabby was in surgery by the time I arrived home. Dental floss is particularly dangerous for cats -- it can perforate their intestines or wrap around the intestine and "strangle" it. I was very lucky. The on-call vet at the ER was a veterinary surgeon.
