Re: 11/14 -Cini Mini - AMPS 264

Hi Cathy-

I haven't visited your condo before, so I just wanted to say "Hi". It's been very hectic for the past coupel weeks, but now that things are appearing to settle down, I can catch up a bit with the goings-on here at FDMB. I scanned through your condo yesterday - so great to hear that Cini Mini is feeling really good these days.

A belated "Welcome" to LL to you!

Amy

Hi everyone.

Today's +2 wasn't as big of a drop like yesterday's cliff dive. Hopefully this means he's starting to adjust.

And thanks for the welcome from Trixie

Thanks everyone. Sorry I haven't been too chatty today. Combination of a long weekend working and not feeling well yet.

I'm going out of town during the holidays for 10 days. I spoke with my regular Vet today and she said she would feel better about me boarding Cini at a place that can do "medical boarding" than boarding him at her place. She feels that of he were to have an issue overnight it would be better for him to be somewhere that has 24 hour staff.

I called the place she recommended and it's going to be about $100 a day to do that. *sigh* I am so bummed. grumpy_cat

Also, I am thinking the reason why Cini's AMPS and PMPS readings are so high is because I have to give him Pepcid twice a day and I need to mix it in something so I've been using Nutrical. I think the Nutrical must be loaded with carbs and it's throwing his readings off. Why else would he have a +11 at 179 and then balloon up in an hour to a PMPS of 345? I gave him Nutrical a half hour before the PMPS. *sigh* I am so bummed. grumpy_cat

Yikes! $100 per day is a little much and probably more attention than you need. We have hired one of the vet techs to stay overnight at our house with Zener and give shots for $35/day. I remember that Christie of Christie & Willie found a pet sitter through a web page and taught her to give insulin shots when Christie went out of town not too long ago.

I don't know anything about Nutrical but we give Zener his pepcid in a Pill Pocket (duck & pea is ok for diabetics) and he LOVES them. So does punkin (Julie posted a video that was very cute).

That's good if you can identify a reason that Cini zoomed up. We usually can't. :-x   You are doing a great job with Cini.

Hi Liz!

I can't give Cini pills because of his throat problems, pills will get stuck. I liked the pill pockets too but they will be too large for him. That's why I have to crush the Pepcid up and mix it in something. The Nutrical is handy for that but if it's sending his levels sky high, I need to find something else.
