Good morning!
AMPS 104 shooting 2.25u

So everyone here knows how Boomer has been getting me up at 2:00 am to stir his food right? And he tries to get me to do it during the day as well! So yesterday I decide that enough is enough. AMPS/PMPS is generally fine. Daytime +3 and +6....he sits and stares at his dish or me for about 5 minutes then eats about half of it. Sits and stares a bit more and then walks away. Comes back, finishes his food. Nighttime +3....he sits and stares for about 15 seconds then cries. Walks over to me and cries. I ignore him. He continues to sit and stare with the occasional cry. It's 11:00 pm and this Bean wants to go to bed and apparently Boomer wants me to sit with him, stir his food, do a dance? IDK. I say to Boomer "come with me" and I walk over to his dish and point at it. He eats. Not a word of a lie...I didn't touch him or the food. I pointed.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: +6......well since I've been up at 12:00, 1:00 and just before 2:00 to test him thinking he would go lower last night, I'm awake when his 2:00 dish turns. I can hear his tag hitting the dish so I know he's eating. I wait. And sure enough he comes to the door and cries. And he cries off and on for the next 20 minutes and periodically he disappears and I think I hear him eating. But he keeps coming back to the door. Eventually I get up, pick him up, place him at the dish, and head btb. At first it looked like he would follow me but then he thought better of it and started eating. He managed to eat his +9 on his own

This Bean is tired today.

Allen ate ok overnight. Really hoping for the ionized calcium results today as he was actually supposed to have his alendronate yesterday but I delayed because I think he may need the dose increased.

Silly Boomer. Sorry you didn't get much sleep last night. It is hard to ignore a diabetic cat that won't eat. I think they know this and take advantage of it. I hope you get the results back for Allen today. Sending prayers.

Boomer, you're a funny guy, but that is not cute while the beans are sleeping! Cats are good at getting what they want from us, no doubt about it! I admire your resolve. Hope you get some more sleep and Allen's results come soon.

+3 86
Boomer sat there and stared at me for about 5 minutes then left and went into the bedroom. I waited, figuring he would come back to eat. But he didn't. Mind you, I only waited another 5 minutes but I have Allen shut in the other bedroom so that he can eat and I can't open that door until both are done. sigh.

I'm debating about what to do tonight. He does eat a bit better when the food is on a plate instead of in the auto feeder. So once he's eaten his +3 I may leave a plate of food out for him. And hopefully between that and his auto feeder meals he'll let me sleep tonight. I do also have a different auto feeder that I could try....we stopped using it because it's not digital, the time is a dial and it seems very arbitrary as to when it opens. But the dish is much shallower and there is a compartment for an ice pack.

Oh,Judy, thank you for my morning smile :) Aren’t our fur babies funny little creatures :bighug: People who think “ dumb animals” are sadly clueless ;). You get the Super Momma Bean award for this day :):bighug::):bighug:

So it's barely above freezing here and I have an outdoor headshots session with a realtor. At least it's just a half hour mini. BRRR

Maybe, just maybe, you're sorta figuring out his idiosyncrasies! I never got there with Trix...had to hold the plate and repile food for years. And my other guys are trying their best to "get me", too...not quite as bad, but the can be so pitiful! But maybe Boomer just doesn't like the autofeeder. I know some cats do prefer flat plates as opposed to bowls. Kitties.....what can ya do???

The problem I've always had with this particular auto feeder is that the dishes are fairly small and deep. But I like knowing that Boomer has food available at certain key times. But it only works if he'll eat out of it. Might be time to try the old feeder again.
