Thinking of Jill and DH this morning. Hoping for a full recovery.

Yesterday, seems so far away...
AMPS 215, 29th cycle @ f0.75u, 1.1oz 8%
+2 239, 0.55oz 8%
+3 331, 0.3oz 8%
+6 412, 0.8oz 8%, 2.5 mg Pepcid
+9 4PP with 3mg Zobaline
PMPS 437, 30th cycle @f0.75u, 0.45oz 6%, 1.0oz 8%
+2 415, 1oz 8%
+3 394, 0.65oz 9%
+5 379, 0.9oz 9%

Today
11/13/11 Zener Alpha Trak
AMPS 315, 31st cycle @ f0.75u, 1.3oz 8%
+2 240, 0.8oz 11%, 1t 17%

I gave him a little higher carb food afer seeing a big drop at +2, hoping to minimize the ensuing bouncing behavior. Zener was very cute this morning. It was raining but he had to go outside. Usually he just sits on the patio and looks around the yard. When I checked on him, he was out in the yard doing his business. When he finished, he came running to the house without even giving it a sniff, let alone covering it up.

Whoa Zener! Way to bring on the blue buddy! Now, ease up a little ok?

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;+2 240;+3 137 ATrak

OK, so much for that theory. A drop of 100 in an hour? Jeesh! Gave him more 17%.
+3 137, 0.6oz 17%

Thanks for the encouragement, Jac! We do like the blues. Hope he can stay there.

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;+2 240;+3 137 ATrak

There's the bounce clearing....that's still a big drop, but it could be worse. Good job feeding some HC at +2, you just want to slow it down, not stop it. It will take some experimentation to see how much to feed when....there's no magical formula, ECID. Next time try a bit more HC at +2, less of the lower carb food, or just HC and see how that works.

There are no mistakes....you are gathering data, that's what you need to do. :-D

Hi Laurie, thanks for checking in on us! Anne here taking over for Liz (Liz does early mornings and I do late nights).
@+3.5 122, 0.5oz 17%

We checked again @+3.5 since he is still dropping fast. Still going down, but maybe not as fast. So, did a little more HC and will check again in another 30 minutes. We don't want it to get away from us and bounce back to "you know what". ;-)

Zener loves this experiment with HCs and would be happy to have more, and more often! :-D

We love data! What are your thoughts on going back to sk1.0? Or should we hold the course and see what happens in the bounce department?

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;+2 240;+3 137;+3.5 122 ATrak

@Julie - Zener is verrrry inspired by the new picture. He would love an opposable thumb to hold his beverage! We especially like it is a green bottle! Loved the trampoline picture from yesterday too. His liver loves to bounce him around.

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;+2 240;+3 137;+3.5 122;+4 100 ATrak

Still dropping @ +4 and GREEN on the human meter. :-D Staying with a bit of HC and a treat (with honey) to see if we can keep this drop slowed down. Love to see these beautiful colors but already dreading the bounce colors that usually follow.

Will check again in 30 minutes.

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;+2 240;+3 137;+3.5 122;+4 100;+5 89

And now he's GREEN on the Alpha Trak! And we've given him a ton of carbs. Feast or famine around here. Sure glad it's Sunday instead of Monday.

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;+2 240;+3 137;+3.5 122;+4 100;+5 89

Hi Anne, wow, I just stopped in for a few minutes before leaving to check condos and saw the string of nice numbers for Zener. He sure knows how to clear a bounce. I had to laugh at Liz's comment this morning about Zener going out in the rain to do his business and then running back home without a sniff. He didn't want to get his coat all wet!

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;+2 240;+3 137;+3.5 122;+4 100;+5 89

Well, that does it as far as I'm concerned.....no increase. Even with all the manipulation, he's 9 points away from the cutoff...that's not enough room for more insulin. That's why we wait for the bounce to clear. ;-)

What I would suggest is trying to work on slowing his dives, like I said earlier. If you can cushion the drops, it will help reduce the bouncing and flatten out his curves. THEN you can increase to bring the whole range down. What do you think?

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;+2 240;+3 137;+3.5 122;+4 100;+5 89

Hi Ann, Liz was laughing so hard at Zener's yard antics this morning! He has been snuggled up in bed ever since, while we test and feed waiting on him paw and tail!

Thanks for your eyes on this Laurie. We just did a +6 and he appears to be surfing @+6 with a 90. :thumbup We are trying to improve our "waiting" skills. He sure takes his sweet time breaking the bounces and then has some dramatic dives, seems like it's feast or famine with his numbers. ;-)

A good plan, we love to have a plan! :-D

Now that it appears he is steady, we've stopped the HC and gave him protein only freeze dried chicken as his poke treat. Does this seem reasonable? We'll check him in an hour and make sure he doesn't wobble. Usually, what we start to see is a steady climb back up so paws crossed the HC was enough to keep Mr Liver from getting all a quiver! nailbite_smile

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;+3 137;+4 100;+5 89;+6 90;+7 81 ATr

We're running out of room in our subject line so here's a summary of today so far. Still GREEN and a bit of a food wobble perhaps?
Today
11/13/11 Zener Alpha Trak
AMPS 315, 31st cycle @ f0.75u, 1.3oz 8%
+2 240, 0.8oz 11%, 1t 17%
+3 137, 0.6oz 17%
+3.5 122, 0.5oz 17%
+4 100, 0.45oz 17% + 1 treat
~5 89, 0.1oz 17% + 2 treats
+6 90, FDCK @ poke
+7 81, 0.5oz 14%

Zener is pretty darn close to his 3rd time below 80 on the AT and an earned reduction. He's been eating MC and HC since his +2 of this cycle. And we are wishing we had gotten a +1 to catch the drop even earlier this morning. He is very hard to predict! And last night we were talking about a dosecrease!

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;3 137;4 100;5 89;6 90;7 81;8 113 AT

Thanks Linda, another exciting drop in Zenerland! (it just doesn't sound as good as Weezer World) ;-)

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;3 137;4 100;5 89;6 90;7 81;8 113 AT

GREAT eye on the SS, Laurie!!! That bounce was a tough one to read because sometimes in a bounce, they will dip into blue. I was counting cycles since his last green although I'm a bit mystified because I was looking at the 107 on 11/11 and seeing it as blue. BUT...when he gets a 107 on an AT...isn't that considered a green number because it's actually a 77 on a human glucometer? When I looked at his SS, it didn't click that the 107 was actually a green number.

Good job today, Anne and Liz!!! Way to go Zener!! No dosecrease!!!

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;3 137;4 100;5 89;6 90;7 81;8 113 AT

We are glad for that! Sometimes it seems all we have to do is think about a dosecrease and he goes the other way. :o He got darn close to his 3rd below 80 today for a shave. We're about to get his PMPS and plan to stay the course with the f0.75u tonight.

Re: 11/13 Zener AMPS 315;3 137;4 100;5 89;6 90;7 81;8 113 AT

Thanks Lisa, another exciting day for Zener!
Ooo Celi, love it - gorgeous green in Zeenerville!
He's on his way back up and into mellow yellow. These numbers could go anywhere!

Re: 11/13 Zener PMPS 252 ATrk

Well, no dosecrease in Zenerville tonight! Now we have paws crossed he doesn't bounce back up and get velcroed to the ceiling!
Today

+8 113, 4PP with pepcid & zobaline
PMPS 252, 32nd cycle @f0.75u, 1.5oz 8%, urine neg ketones

We'll keep an eye on him early in his cycle tonight, just in case he decides to dive, though we are more concerned he will get back on the trampoline after his run of greens today. Guess he didn't want no stinkin' dosecrease! ;-)

Re: 11/13 Zener PMPS 252 ATrk

What a great cycle for Zener today! He certainly has his beans well trained, no?    Does he get a special towel dry when he comes in from the rain? Egyptian cotton??

FYI, you can go into the color coding on the spreadsheet and change the ranges to reflect Alphatrak numbers... I did it when we were using the AT back in the day. Let me know if you're interested and I can help you figure it out!

Hope you guys had a great weekend!

Yup, 107 is green for an AT meter. I know that can throw people off. That's why I said wait for the bounce to clear.

Nice PMPS, maybe Zener will avoid a hard bounce this time. He could see another nice blue/green cycle tonight....we'll see. Beautiful job managing the cycle today! :-D

Re: 11/13 Zener PMPS 252 ATrk

Thanks Christie! Liz, the engineer, will PM you for instructions in changing the SS!

Laurie, we'll get a +1 tonight and see if HC is in order. Zener would love that! We would love some more blues & greens. My schedule is such tomorrow morning that I can be home through his +6, if needed. Thanks for all your help!

Re: 11/13 Zener PMPS 252;+1 358 ATrk

Looks like no HC for Zener tonight, can you say "b-b-b-b-ounce"? flip_cat
@+1 358, not hungry
Paws crossed he doesn't get too high and stay there too long.

Well, not really surprising....the PMPS looked promising though. I hope he clears the bounce quickly....
Thanks Laurie, we thought the same - "not really surprising" but we are eternally hopeful! It was nice to see a pre-shot in a color other than red or pink! We'll keep a close eye on things mid cycle and in the morning too. Maybe this will be a short one.

Re: 11/13 Zener PMPS 252;+1 358;+3 325 ATrk

We were relieved to see the rocket shot stop at +3.
PMPS 252, 32nd cycle @f0.75u, 1.5oz 8%, urine neg ketones
+1 358, 0.5oz 9%
+3 325, 1.4oz 8%

After all the good fuds in his AM cycle, we expected his appy to be off tonight for the LC foods. Zener likes to surprise us and is eating great for him. :-D

Looks like a high yellow - low pink bounce tonight from the BIG drop to the lovely blues and greens earlier today.
PMPS 252, 32nd cycle @f0.75u, 1.5oz 8%, urine neg ketones
+1 358, 0.5oz 9%
+3 325, 1.4oz 8%
+5 320, 0.9oz 9%
Zener has been feeling good and eating good today, so beans are happy. Paws are crossed the bounce does not last long!
Time to take advantage for a nice night's sleep. Ni ni LL! I-) I-) I-)
