Ok so the vet just called and says the lump was a low grade spindle cell tumor. Good news was that it was very discrete and there were no cells outside of the margin so we got it all. Negligible chance of spread but we need to watch for recurrence.

Meanwhile he is still having diarrhea and we are getting more fortiflora. And he is having a bounce today after his low greens yesterday.

Hi guys .. I'm so sorry to hear it was cancer in tiggy .. but, prayers answered that it all came out!!! I sure hope and pray you guys never have to go through that again, and that tiggy starts feeling better quickly .. have a great day guys!

We think it had only been there two weeks but now i wonder

1. could a "bad" insulin injection have caused this? I heard that vaccines can
2. Could this lump have been there longer? Could it have been the reason he fell out of OTJ in March?

thoughts?

WOO HOO!! They got it all!!! THAT is a huge blessing!!! Even tho' it WAS cancer, the operative word there is 'WAS'!!!! Being able to use that 'WAS' word is WONDERFUL!

So right that WAS is the operative word. I'm sure you have to be vigilant but we'll pray for gone, gone, gone.

I seriously doubt that it was the result of the insulin. I've not seen this happen in the 3+ years I've been around here but anything is possible. Usually, with cancer, BG numbers will drop -- cancer eats glucose -- so again, I doubt that this was the reason Tiggy fell out of remission. The good news is that you have a good pathology report back from the vet.

Re. the diarrhea, you may want to try a more potent probiotic. I've used [ur=http://www.renewlife.com/ultimate-flora-critical-care-50-billion.htmll]ReNew Ultimate[/url]. It's available at Whole Foods in the refrigerated supplement section in the US.

Ohh I'm sorry to hear that poor Tiggy ;(
Thank god though ! You found it early and removed while it was still small !

Lets hope that it won't come back again! Most of cancer cells don't come back again after removal.
