Hi everyone, sorry couldnt catch up last night.
Today's AMBG is 79.
Into double figures and getting there!!
If you get to 14 days what percentage of cats stay in remission? Do many slip back?
I will check that the SMS has been updated.
Thanks Kath

Happy Day 10  Go Red, just a few more days!

Good evening from new zealand.
PMBG 79. He's keeping it level!!
I am missing my sweet big red boy. Hope to be back home on Friday!
DH and DD doing a great job at home checking him and keeping him surfing on in to his 14 days!!
I showed another vet (son of a friend) his SS today and this message board. He hadn't seen it before and will be recommending it to his patients for support. Tick off another educated vet!! New Zealand isnt that big but not sure I can convert all the vets, but I'll certainly have a go.
Thanks again for your support
Kath & red

Good morning New Zealand!! Or would that be good evening  I see that Red has bookends too! :thumbup We have the best boys!! They are doing so great. And we certainly have to give kudos to your DH & DD for stepping up to do what they have to for Red :RAHCAT I hope you get home soon to see your boy and be there on day 14!!! :-D :-D :-D GO RED flip_cat

Hi Kath! From what I've seen it's not unusual for OTJ kitties to 'slip', often because they're stressed by illness, a move, something going on in the home, or high-carb food is being given, etc. I think it's more common in cats that were on insulin long-term. And of course it depends on circumstances - if a cat was diabetic because of being on steroids or whatever, when the cause is removed and the diabetes is brought into remission they're much less likely to need insulin again. Very often a cat can go OTJ again, especially if it's caught quickly, so continued occasional testing is important. I think the standard frequency is monthly (maybe someone else knows more about this?), but personally I wouldn't go less often than weekly.

Good morning Kath. Red is doing AWESOME!!!. Keep going Red you're doing great. On day 10 and only a few more left.
Have a great day.

Hi thanks for your encouragement. If he gets OTJ we can certainly do once a week. Happy to do more to start with, he will miss all the attention!!

Camille, I hope you got my PM reply to your message. My DD did the photos but you email has bounced back. She has an exam this am but will try to reply directly to your pm attaching the photos. Don't know if that is possible. I will find out if they were sent to the other 2 addresses ok. Could you check your address on the original pm as we just copied and pasted and it seems strange that it was returned. We would love to have his party day 14, but appreciate we were slow with the pictures, sorry. Kath
