Nerves, anxiousness and other words to describe FD are very common. Its very tough finding a way to manage FD especially in the beginning. Try telling yourself that you will see patterns in how Pookey responds to Lantus. Try telling yourself that you have him on a great insulin. Take some deep breaths.
Knowing that others have been through this and have navigated it takes most of the guess work away. I read and reread the stickies about dosing and the basics all the time.

Great job setting up the SS and home testing.

Thanks for that Angela, I appreciate it. I’m assuming once more of a routine is established that helps too.

ABSOLUTELY!!! In the beginning, I was a lunatic :oops:. Now FD is just part of my day with my Cleo. You'll see that a lot of experienced members will say that a cat is more than their numbers and eventually you'll see it to be true :)

Keep asking questions, it helps a lot with the anxiety. Odds are someone around here has been through it already. :bighug:

Morning!

Yesterday’s post:

This is our lowest AMPS so far… but I still find myself nervous and anxious about his outlook. How do you all deal with the emotions of this process and the numbers?

I keep telling myself this is good for him and kitty’s go into remission, so just keep doing what I’m doing, but it’s tough.

Thank you. - Tim
Hi Tim, I agree with what Angela said. She’s been here a long while and knows what she’s talking about.
It’s all very new for you and Pookey, so breathe. This all takes time and won’t resolve overnight.
One day at a time.
But every day follow the process and you will likely see his BG start to come down.

Keep posting, reading others’ posts (learning) and asking any questions. You’ve got an incredible community here who will help you.
Sending you and Pookey lots of support. Hang in there.

Have a great day :bighug::cat:
