Good morning. Thanks for stopping by Furball's condo. I do have to get to work early. Not quite as early as you. I go in at 7:30, but get to go home at 4:15. I'd much rather go in early and come home early. Monet is looking good. I hope Monet continues to give you those nice numbers.

Good Evening LL ....

Just did Monet's PMPS test and got a 92 , feed , and gave him his .10 of a unit of Lantus.
Does thus mean we are a go for his OTJ TRIAL tomorrow ??? If so ... bring on the OTJ Trial Instructions pretty please flip_cat

as you read these, keep in mind that they are color-coded for a human meter. So green here means less than 125 or so on your AT. here ya go:

Test at your normal AMPS and PMPS times. Feed multiple small meals throughout the day as much as possible (small meals are less likely to overwhelm a newly functioning pancreas).

If he is green at your normal test times, no need to test further until the next "PS" time, just feed small meals and go about your day. If he is blue, feed a small meal and test again after about 3 hours. If his number is lower 3-4 hours after a meal, then his pancreas is working!

Post every day so we can monitor your progress and see if any tweaks are needed. It is not unusual for cats to get lots of blue during their trial, especially at first. Don't panic and don't shoot unless we tell you to.

After 14 days of no insulin, we have a party!

Sometimes the trial doesn't work the first time and we have to give a little more support in the form of resuming insulin. It's not the end of the world if that happens, we just give him the support he needs. Our goal is a strong remission and it's better to take our time to get that than to rush into remission just to have it fail later on.

Too funny ...I was kind of expecting something more substantial as far as what was going to be involved in doing this trial haha_smiley

Seriously, I am excited but at the same time scared that it may not go well. I will try to only think positive thoughts ! So green for Monet will be < 125 and blue would be 126 to about 225??? Just want to make sure I am clear on this.

Thanks again to you and everyone on LL that has helped get Monet to this next step of doing the OJT trial ...I just love those 3 words ...OJT ...and I just love U guys !!!

Please keep those fingers, toes , and paws crossed for a successful OJT trial period for Monet !

When you post, remember you are posting your AMBG and PMBG numbers during the trial. It's also helpful if you keep a count of what day of the trial it is.

Good luck Monet and Rise!!!

The AT is about 30 points higher, so green would be under 130 and blue would be anything under 230 (but we aren't going to even THINK about Monet going that high!!)
