Good Evening, Everyone,

Thank you to Julie and Marje for all your support last night!

I did not shoot this morning, despite what my subject line looks like. I was just not comfortable shooting and leaving. I've mulled over the options Marje laid out for me, and I'm leaning toward giving him the three days off, then reevaluating where he is. One reason for this is that I'm not comfortable shooting and leaving him alone all day. The other is simply gut feeling. My gut was right the last two times I felt like I should test him early, so it must know something.

There are two things I'm wondering. The first is, how often should I test over these next few days? The other is does today's drop mean anything, or are we pretty random right now?

BTW, I don't watch soap operas, believe it or not. I use soap opera names, because of Carol Burnett's "As the Stomach Turns" skit from a zillion years ago. I'm still laughing over that one! :lol:

I'm heading to bed for a nap after last nights festivities. I'll be baaaaacccckkkk!!!!!

RB looks pretty flat to me today...I don't see a drop between 436 and 384. Mikey always has me wondering if he came down and is now headed back up. We will see.

I'd still get an AMBG and PMBG. In fact, if you don't mind changing "AMPS" in the subject line to "AMBG", then we will all know you didn't shoot. If we see "AMPS", it's a signal you gave insulin. In addition to the AMBG and PMBG, I'd get your in the door test and a before bed test so we can see if he's slowly coming down.

If you look at JuJu's SS, he looks like he's starting to slowly come down. It will be interesting to see how far down he comes.

Ok Mikey....time to see some nice numbers on your own.

just sending you a little support. i sure hope these are just bounce numbers for mikey from having dropped so fast yesterday.

IT's definitely a bounce at this point. The difference is in what happens when he clears it, which if he read the manual would usually happen by 6 cycles after last night.

If he's done with insulin, he'll end up back in normal numbers.

if he still needs insulin, when the bounce clears and his numbers drop back down he may settle in still out of normal blood sugar range.
 
Light bulb moment! :idea: I think I might get what's happening at last. After his aerial free fall last night, which followed some other circus-type falls, Mr. Liver had a panic attack and attempted life-saving measures, which, unbeknownst to him, were unnecessary. Mr. Liver's rescue efforts are continuing today, hence the high numbers. Our hope is that Mr. Liver will take a valium and chill over the next couple of days. Then we can see what Mr. Pancreas is really doing. And hopefully, that's producing plenty of insulin, thereby making Mr. Insulin Shot obsolete. I just needed this in second grade-ese! :lol: :lol:

It looks to me like Mikey's numbers are slowly inching down. I know it's too early to have a clue, especially considering that Mikey is, well, Mikey, but it seems slightly hopeful to me.

Does anything I just wrote make sense?

BTW, Mikey teaches grammar, handwriting, and writing skills in my class. Today one of my students presented him with a carefully written bubble map and for a paragraph about Mouseroni and Cheese. She informs the reader that mouseroni and cheese can be made at home and is very healthy for cats. She finishes by stating that even thinking about it makes her sick. She illustrates this with a detail drawing of her violently projectile vomiting. Now I remember why I'm a teacher!

Not all high numbers mean not enough insulin. Fingers and toes are crossed for you and Mikey!
 
Mikey you stinker!! Ugh it's starting to look to me like Mikey might still want some insulin. Come down today, buddy!!!
