Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (LOTS! it's cardio vetty recovery day), and Happy Tuesday!
LL beans! It is I!, Mannie, kitteh barista! For today I proudly offer triple shot espressos, with beans from Starbucks Pike Place Market, their original blend, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a venti quad peppermint white chocolate mocha, with peppermint infused whip, garnished with peppermint candy chips and white chocolate shavings... per my beans request... she insisted! silly bean.

Yesterday was...... PERFECT STORM day.... cardio vetty day.... WHAT A day, and what UGLY PM cycle numbers. It was a perfect storm: we had a quick dip into the greens the day before with lots of fuds to compensate, then a really long cardio vetty appointment in the morning, and then the NEW MOON to tie it all together. No wonder Mannie was floating high in the stratosphere yesterday. It was difficult to look at those numbers, but I also knew there was a reason, and that he would come down. Which he did.... We hope for better numbers today... Right Mannie? YAY! I see head nods.... now about that amps this morning.... cat_pet_icon

I posted this yesterday, but thought I would again today should anyone have missed it or wants to read again.... Cardio Results: Physical exam: normal. Noted: S4 gallop rhythm, no murmur found. all other systems/organ sfound to be normal. BP: 210, 100-160 is considered normal. so Mannie was "up there". hypertension cannot be ruled out, but all other parts associated with this are normal: eyes,etc. Cardio man suspects that this was related to the visit there. We will recheck in 2 weeks. ECG: Heart Rate 120, sinus tachycardia diagnosed. ?? ECHO: there are some changes in Mannie echo from 4 years ago, progression appears to be slow. valves function normally. Blood flow is normal. Contractions are normal. There is one area that indicates possible HCM, but case is extremely mild and will be reevaluate in 6 months. One atrium wall is thick - this is the area of concern. Diagnosis: Asymmetric Basilar Septal Hypertrophy: MILD, POSSIBLY due to HCM. There is a thickening of the atrium ( I think that was the part) ) that will require medication to prevent the formation of clots, which cats I guess are prone to. He will be placed on Plavix to deal with this. The possible Hypertension will be reevaluated in two weeks.so... that is it in a nutshell. I hope I interpreted it all correctly. He has a few issues with wall thickening but not considered at this time as a for sure HCM patient. So re-eval in 6 months.

All is well in MannieLand. I am glad we are done with the cardio workup - stressful for both of us. Mannie did very well there, the perfect gentleman kitty. No fuss, no hollering, just did what was asked of him. The howls came when he had to wait for the results. He was done as far a he was concerned, and WHY were we waiting.... MEOW MEOW MEOW rang the Mannie I am Done chorus for 30 minutes in the vetty office, :lol: :lol: :lol: HE was so glad to be home... checked out all rooms in the house, went to the kitchen and howled at his test spot, producing a lovely 479 BG. Why he felt I needed to know this is uncertain. I think he was looking for sympathy.... POOR MANNIE! So i sent him to the nanner pile, and his kitty bed. where he spent the next two hours trying to remove "that small". I felt bad for him, as he really did have that medicinal smell - it was strong and a little "OMG". It was great that all his kitty friends came and helped him smell "normal": lavender, rosemary and grillin' spices.... :cool: What a day for the Nanner King. ;-) This morning we had a great test, feed and shoot and clean plate club , purrs and a lots of cuddles. AND (!!!!) he used the auto feeder!!!! :shock: :shock: :shock: :cool: Normalcy in MannieLand. :-D

Hey Everybody! I FEEL GREAT! The KTSS is so cool! You guys made me feel human again... So so cool. What did you think of the sauna and hot tub in the treehouse? Good spot for the KTSS? It was so cool to be able to go to Rusty's after that day, after a short stop to get Oliver and visit his LB per his request, so meting about vetty smell control... The fleece and the niptinis at Rusty's was do cool! What do you guys wanna do today? Maye the dunes? and the dune buggy's? or should we go snowboarding again? I dunno! let me know - I am ready for anything!! ~~ Mannie

Come on down Mannie! What is the deal with our pink kitties this morning? Vetty day is over Mannie. No more excuses. So relieved on the test results. It is manageable and now you have a baseline as well. Too funny on the howling. He did his part now it's time to go home. Geez. So much to do once they get home as well. I hope they got rid of the vetty smell. Have a great day Michelle!

Morning Michelle, and I think there a few of us bouncy kitties, Maggie, too! Mannie, thank you for getting out coffee deliveries ready! ~O) Are you sure you're up to it and feeling okay after all the Vetty stress! So glad now you know what you're dealing with and meds to help him along. It's the initial testing and the wait and anticipation that is so stressful on the Beans. Have a great time with your friend and coffee and a shore walk. I plan on stopping in today where i know a friend has coffee after her walk. I'll have to time it right. On second thought, I'd better wait and not spread a cold if one is brewing.

Mannie, hey, let go play in the leaves at Tarragon's house on our way to Rusty's. There is also the dunes.

I'm glad things are getting back to normal after goofy ol vet yesterday. I can just hear Mannie telling you "I'm done, let's go home". :lol: :roll: "Don't those beans know that I set the schedule and my schedule says OUTA HERE!

Hi Michelle, It's good that you got all those tests out of the way and now have a baseline. It sounds perfectly workable. I'm glad you're going to get to the city today for coffee with your friend and a little R&R, and also get in a shore walk. You need to unwind, too!

Thanks for your concern about my head. I get to look at it this afternoon, when I change the bandage!!

1 of my civies had a cardio last Friday - he has just been diagnosed with hyper-T and an enlarged heart. He's started meds and should do well if the hyper-T can be controlled.

But, I know what you mean about stress! He was sooooo upset when I picked him up. He started the open mouthed panting in the cat carrier so I had to pull over and let him out. He was a little better then - hiding under the car seat.
It took the rest of the day for his little heart to slow down to even the hyper-T level!

I have to take him back on Friday for blood work - I'm dreading it!

Hope Mannie recovers more today and his numbers come down,

Hi Denise - thanks for the visit! oh wow on your civvie! That does take me back - I too had a kitty years ago that had the same: hyper T and an enlarged heart. your poor gut and the trip stress. I so understand that. Mannie did OK in the car, more or less, but wow at the vet. he was a trooper for the exam, but once that was over and we had to wait for results the stress level was building, He so wnated to be home. Howl after howl... Good luck with your return trip on Friday. THX on today - things are slowly returning to normal here today, even the numbers are coming down. YAY!!!

Nice cycles today Mannie. Looks like you did one cycle over 24 hours instead of two, but some very nice time in the blues today. It's nice to see Mannie getting back to normal after yesterday's stress, including the autofeeder! Neko would be proud.
 
Hi Wendy - this is true: it does look like 24 hour cycle, doesn't. What a nice curve over the past 24 hours. ;-) :lol: I so agree - what a great recover today. I am glad he found his way back down. what a day yesterday - so stressed out he was... poor guy! all better today. :-D :-D :-D i know on the auto feeder - I couldn't believe it: it has been a while since he has gone to it when it opened,. YAY!

Very impressive recovery day for Mannie! His retreat to his bed with his nanners after the vetty appt broke my heart....poor Mannie ;-)

Tobey is always up for grillin' and KTSS although he is spending lots of extra time with his beloved auntie Ellabean while she is recovering.

Hi Marje - that it was. He did well getting over his cardio day. we are a little high this AM, but expected after his rainbow day yesterday. ;-) Mannie is thrilled on the grillin'. He thinks maybe the KTSS should visit auntie ella bean....
