After Walter "celebrated" 3 years on Insulin in September, Mandarin is coming up on 4 years since his FD diagnosis. He spent some time OTJ early on, but has been back on Insulin for well over a year. Since it's been some time since my last post, I figured I would finally post an update.

Both of my boys are doing well. Lots of blues and greens on their spreadsheets and both of them seem to like their current dose (they are both on 0.25 U). It's been a rather uneventful year for both of them. Ever since Mandarin had all of those nasty resorptive lesions taken care of, his mouth feels a lot better and he hasn't had any dental problems since (anti-jinxes). And Walter looks and feels great these days. It's hard to believe that he is 12 now - he sure acts like a younger cat.

The only one that has had some medical issues lately is Capone. I found two small bumps on him back in September. They didn't look like much of anything, but I had them checked out by our vet just to be on the safe side. Turns out that they were mast cell tumors. I am so glad I took him in right away. Luckily, the vet was able to get clear margins and the surgery should be curative. The incisions were huge though, especially considering how small the lumps were. He looked pretty rough for a while, but the hair is growing back nicely and he acts like nothing ever happened.

The rest of the furry crew is doing fine too. Little Iris is still as sweet and cuddly as ever and likes to sleep under the covers now that it's getting colder. Thankfully, her polyp removal made a world of a difference and her breathing is perfectly normal now.

...and I better get ready for work. I have a really strange teaching schedule this semester and don't teach until 1 pm. It's nice since it gives me time in the morning, but it also means that I usually can't be home during the active part of the boys' cycle. I'll

Good to read the update. I was recently viewing an OTJ video and saw Mandarin on there and wondered how he and Walter were doing. :D

It's great to see an update on your crew. I was thinking about you the other day. I'm glad Walter and Mandarin are doing well. I hope Capone stays cancer free. It's wonderful to hear Iris is breathing well. Don't stay away so long.

It's good to hear from you Christina! Happy to hear the boys are doing well; I was just thinking about them yesterday! Also very nice to hear that Iris has had no further breathing issues; I know how nervous you were about that surgery.

I echo - good to hear from you! Sounds like the world is turning well for you and all of them too. Fingers crossed for no more nasties for Capone!

HUGS!

So happy to see so many familiar faces! When I first looked at all the condos, I recognized hardly any of the names (hopefully because so many old-timers are OTJ these days). Thank you all for checking in. I will try to post more regularly again... and get caught up on all of your sugar babies.

Hi Christina,
How wonderful that everyone in the household is doing well! Vines for Capone continuing to recover nicely.
Sounds like you have a pretty good teaching schedule this semester.

Hugs and scritches,

p.s. earlier this month I posted a video remembrance of Rusty. Hope you'll get a chance to see it.
