Morning and oh no with the pinkus floor. I know Mags will come down, as it's a combination of free feeding overnight up until +9.5 and also her meds. The dish is taken away at +9.5, and the begging begins. I should probably set a alarm at +8 for dish removal! As long as her Nadir numbers are within range, but still pink and yellow bookends still don't fly with me.
I wonder if Mannie kitteh barista is feeling well enough to make deliveries. ~O) Maybe we should deliver a care package to Mannie. He had a rought and stressful day yesterday.

Maggie is feeling good and was yelling at me in th shower to hurry up and get out to the living room where she is now napping on the footstool of the recliner. She is in good spirits, and I'm hoping she does some prezzies today, but I won't hold her to it. Appy good, too.
Maggie's Bean woke up with a sore throat and beginnings of a cold. I found some Zicam Ultra Cold Remedy, expiration date Sept 2012 though. I'll buy some fresh Zicam today at Target and cough drops and hopefully the Zicam will make the cold less severe. Anyone have a home remedy for a sore throat? I heard salt and warm water is one!
Prayers and healing vines for Moonie today and comfort vines and hugs for Roni & DH.

ETA -- Maggie had prezzies and a very strong aroma awaiting me when I returned home from errands at Noon. Detective Poo, you can check off Mags! :-D

I can just see Maggie telling you to "get out of the shower and come by me!!" Cracks me up. Cats are sooo cute.
Sorry about your sore throat. yick. gargle warm salt water -that's good for sore throats. So is honey and tea. My ol doctor uncle used to tell us to get in a tub of water as warm as you can stand it and stay there for 45 min. twice a day if you can Of course you have to refresh the water as it cools off. The point was to raise your internal body temp. That's where the "good germs" hang out and when you get them nice and toasty, they come out swinging and fight off the bad germs. The only problem is finding that 45 min where you have nothing else to do but watch your fingers prune up. But i promise it works.

Oh, Mags....come back down, little lady!

Glad to her Maggie is in good spirits...she's such a sweet little girl! I don't have any sore throat remedies, other than lots of rest! Zicam usually works really well for me, but I can't stand how it tastes!

Maggie and Tarragon are hanging out together this morning. I have a feeling they will both come down soon. How sweet on her yelling at you while you were in the shower. :lol: She is such a sweet girl. Get yourself some meds and take care of yourself. That is the last thing you need is a cold. We drink lots and lots of tea. Big hugs to you and scritches for Mags!

Morning Ann and Maggie, stinky pinky huh? I have the beginnings of a cold too, started Sunday night. I like the idea of sitting in a hot bath for 45 min, sounds good, I may try it. Hope Maggie delivers some prezzies and shows some good numbers for you. I take airborne at the first signs of a cold and it seems to lessen the effects of a cold. Have a good day!

Maggie is coming down slowly. I'm glad I gave her ears a break and let her continue napping. She usually sends off signals if she's dropping, like eating fast or jumping onto the sofa test spot!

Hi Mary, yes, Maggie sure is a little character with her humorous things she does keeping me laughing and on my toes! Thanks for the home remedies for a cold. I love the bath remedy, so relaxing.

Amy, thanks, she has such a sweet spirit. You're right about the Zicam and the taste, alittle yucky. Maybe they will have some new flavors today.

Melissa, I hope Tarragon and Maggie soon zip on down the ladder today. Thanks and I will get some meds. The Zicam seems to be helping. I think probably the two months past expiration still has some zip in it.

Hi Michelle & Scrabble, I hope so, too, on the prezzies and better numbers. I've heard a lot of people swear by Airborne.

Sure are alot of pinks maps kitties today... I SWEAR it is the new moon influence too - that and that they are just being cats. ;-) Very nice on her +4. It is good isn't it when we can give their ears a break. :cool: Hear you on the high numbers as bookends, with decent nadirs. Mannie will do that too....

I hope you feel better. I've always done the warm water and salt thing, and the honey and tea. Both help. I love Mary's suggestion - that is something I have never read but really like the idea.

WOW! Look at that beautiful slide! Maggie is a PRO! That's another thing that helps the beans feel better, seein kitters in good numbers.

I do honey and fresh lemon juice in hot water for a sore throat, also the Zicam really helps. Ella and Edward swear by netty pots. I may try that this year.

Hi Ann,

I do hot lemon & honey water like Ann & Tess does. Also gargling with hot salt water is very good. It both cleans any infection and kills pain. As far as meds, I think Mucinex is the best for colds and coughs. For sore throats, all you need is a good cough drop like Riccola herbal & vitamin drops.

Maggie sounds like she feels great! We just need to convince her to come down where she belongs.. :-D Maybe she'll come visit Racci who just decided to go down again. TTYL

Hi everyone, I got this +6 @ 144 right before I left for errands. I was pleased with her slide, learning from the Master Zener!
She also left me PREZZIES which was a nice surprise!

Hi Melanie, thanks for all the help on cold remedies. I picked up some Ricola drops and Zicam. I think I have mucinex from last year. Yes, if only we could Mags to stay in thes nice blues, we'd have it made/

Sorry you're coming down with a cold, Ann. We no longer use the netti pot. Too clumsy. I think the best remedy for an on-coming cold is a nice big glass of Scotch or Vodka. In Austria we used to make hot, spiced wine (Glühwein). Here's a recipe: http://www.austria.info/uk/austrian-cuisine/gluehwein-1561421.html It didn't always help, but it sure tasted good!!

Another surprise!! Maggie hasn't had an AMPS like this in a coon's age, whatever that means! I didn't do any pokes after the 144 as I expected her to go up to the yellow floor as usual. I guess it's don't guesstimate the cat! :?

Nice slide into blue for Maggie today. I hope you can keep from getting that cold. Instead of a neti pot, I use a squeeze bottle to rinse out my sinuses. It is similar to a neti pot, but you don't have to tilt your head sideways. It really has helped me a lot in the past year that I have been using it. I still get sick from time to time, but not as much as I used to.

Carla, thanks on the squeeze bottle for the nasal. The Zicam sseems to be helping some as long as I don't forget to take every 3 hours. I have something called Simply Saline that I squirt into the nasal. I wonder if it's the same as you.
 
Ann the squeeze bottle I use is called Neil Med Sinus Rinse. It works like the neti pot. It goes in one side of your nose and comes out the other. I'm glad the Zicam is helping.

Sorry about the sore throat. Yes, gargling with warm salty water helps. I've never tried the hot bath, but do try to take hotter showers when I'm ailing. Orange juice - lots of fluids. If it's sinus related - I use a sinus rinse. Yucky, but helpful. Honey and lemon - and my older relatives said to include whiskey in the mix. A pediatrician recommended it for Jessica once, needless to say I didn't give it to her. :roll: Hall's makes "Fruit Breezers" that are soothing, but not medicinal like cough drops, so you can eat more of them. I keep them on me at all times. I have asthma and allergies and never know when a smell or whatever will trigger coughing or throat irritation. And, increase your Vitamin C. Hope you feel better SOON!

Maggie - NICE PMPS! Way to hurry mom along in the shower, after all, savings on the water bill = more $ she can spend on you! :-D
