We started off in the 300s at PMPS, but got into the mid 100s and stayed there until AMPS.

I emailed the hospital vet, who I guess is our regular vet now, and asked what to do. Surprisingly he said to give 1U again. Most of the time, vets get a little squeamish around low numbers. Back in the old days, I wouldn't think twice about it because I could put food in front of her at any time and she would eat. Now I'm not sure when she'll eat other than the big meals before injections. Mid-cycle snacks she'll eat when she gets around to it in between naps.

Anyway, I made sure it was exactly 1U if not a little skinny. I'll be watching her closely today and I'm happy we have a new Libre sensor to make things easier.

Great start Luna! Be a good girl and surf ... no diving allowed ;)

the libre will give you much more data much more easily. A smart move for a kitty who has had so many pokes over the past couple weeks. So glad to see her in these nice numbers :bighug:

That is awesome:)....how she is doing AND the hospital vet as a local vet to help :bighug:! The internists definitely are more comfortable with the DM vs regular vets. I know you love the data so you will appreciate starting to see the trends from that CGM as time goes on :cool:. Very excited for you guys...hoping all goes well today :)

They had to put it on her other side, so she's missing some more fur. But yeah, I'd rather put her through that once instead of poking her every 2 or 3 hours. We had to be at the vet anyway, so it wasn't any extra stress.

Yeah, he doesn't worry about much. I guess when you see crazy stuff every day, diabetes isn't so scary. We still worry, but it helps when the person telling you what to do isn't freaking out.

SO true! It makes a world of difference to have members on your team who you trust & you know are able to manage this well :).

Fingers crossed, Libre stays PUT! Now she's got an evened out haircut :p!

How wonderful! Glad to hear she's eating so well! She'll surely put some weight on now! Great report for the feeding tube as well!

It's so good to hear that's she's doing so well! Enjoy the info from the Libre. I'm sure it provides a great deal of peace of mind. You'll even be able to pick up her nadir pattern with that info :)

Have a great evening Dan!

It’s so nice you have family to help with Luna :)!! I am sure it will be hard to go but there is always FaceTime :p! Such great news about her continued appetite & steady #s. Safe travels. Look forward to more good news when you return :D

Thanks. I know she'll be ok but I still feel bad leaving. Terrible timing.

I just found out the freestyle libre has another app that will share the meter's info. So I get a phone alert every time there's a scan. Now I can obsess from 1,000 miles away.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:
