Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (YUM! Elsa outdid herself this morning: PRIMO!), and Happy WACKY Wednesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is WACKY WEDNESDAY!!! Lola and Bug SWEAR that it won't be wacky pizzas, just wacky Wednesday. Whatever that means.... The whack-a-thon marathons continue. All the kitters seem to like them. Excellent pizzas to the best whacker! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot Breve's made from Sun-Dried Sumatra Rasuna beans. For my mocha fans: a VENTI Quad Cimmamum and Frango Mint infused white mocha/mocha blend with Frango chocolate chips melted within, topped with a cimmamum whip garnished with cimmamum sprinkles, white chocolate curls and frango mocha drizzle. ....SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of mint and vanilla and cimmamum swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with mint chips and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts always on the menu.

I hope everyone had a great Tuesday yesterday. We did well here. It was a busy out an about day, but I really had a good time. I liked the pace of yesterday - nothing was rushed, the day just kinda evolved at a nice slow pace. I made a shore walk and saw some of salmon on the run, followed by Seattle visit with my friend, and then a walk through Seattle's Freeway Park. The day had turned sunny then, so off I went. Here's what I wrote about yesterday: "Hi everyone. I hope your afternoon, and morning, have been good. Its has been a nice, more or less mellow, day here. I decided early on in the morning to take a trip down through the woods to the shore and Lund's Gulch Creek to see if I could see anymore of the salmon run. The weather wasn't the best, lots of drizzly rain... but I went anyways. I was glad I did. I found several Chum Salmon working their way up from the sound and up into the creek. I think I counted about a dozen or so. What was nice to see was that they have been able to make their way some of the obstacles, mostly low waterfalls, to keep on with their journey. Chum aren't really jumpers, and instead will fight their way through the flow of the water, including waterfalls. Anyways.... I had a great time. Seattle this afternoon was nice too. We actually had sun in the city, so after seeing my friend I went a few blocks south and walked Freeway Park. This parks straddles a section of I5 and a few urban streets, and is actually rather pretty, The plantings are nice, well maintained. It was great to see some remnants of fall with the colorful tree, and the fallen leaves. All is all it has been a really nice day." Picassa inks: More Meadowdale and the Salmon Run and Seattle Freeway Park.

Normalcy in MusketeerVille! and a way too quiet normalcy. Elsa is being Elsa.... sleep mode rules in the fall with her. It's cool out, and wet, and well.... that always equates to bed, naps and snuggles for Elsa. Bug us being Bug too. He's my social come and greet you cat, with a wag to his tail, and prance to his step, and always with that Meow! That part so reminds me of Mannie, minus the meow part. Mannie never did meow mush, unless he was running low green and wanted me to know he was. Then He'd camp out in the kitchen and holler until I came and tested him. ;-) Bug is alot like him, With the arrival of fall he too sleeps alot of the day away when he is, that is, not playing with Lola. He has taken over Mannie's beds. That part is nice. Lola is..... well, Lola. She has been very well behaved today. Scary.... I know.... it's like: when is the other shoe going to fall. She did spend most of the afternoon following me wherever I went. She'd sit next to a wall and as I walked by reach out and shack me. Maybe she's practicing for Wacky Wednesday.  She has been a good girl yesterday: no plant mess, no shredded anything, no upturned anything. Ah Lola.... just what are you planning????????? :o I can hardly wait to see what it is....  YUPP! Normalcy in MusketeerVille!

Have a great day everyone. I am back on Nicholas and William duty today. Nicholas and I will swim while the other grandparents watch William for a few hours for me. We are due for a sunny afternoon. I hope they are right, and maybe we can go to a park in the afternoon. :-D

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE/b], think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

How wonderful to have one of those "go at my own pace" days! I love reading about bits and bobs of Mannie you see in the personalities of the Musketeers. It feels then as if our GA kitties are still with us.

Freeway Park looks spectacular, and what lovely sun in the city. Is it near the REI mothership?

Re: 11/13 LOOSE LIPS: salmon and freeway parks.... & it's WW

Hi Anne, and Liz ~O) ~O) ~O) I so LOVE t my own pace days. Don't get them often so love it when I do. Me too on the bits of Mannie I keep seeing in the others, specially Bug. It is as you say: as if a part of them are still with us. :-D Freeway Park is on 7th and Union and southwards from that. so.... a few blocks from REI. maybe 7 or so down and a couple up. it is a really nice park: and GORGEOUS in the spring when all comes into bloom. A PLUS to have it in the city.

Re: 11/13 LOOSE LIPS: salmon and freeway parks.... & it's WW

Good Morning, Michelle,
Your day yesterday sounds really nice. Those pics of Meadowdale are always atmospheric. I especially like all the different fungi that seem to thrive there. And, of course, the videos of the salmon run. And the Seattle park!!! Seattle sure has changed since I lived there in the early '60s!

Lola is keeping you guessing, as always. What will she do today? I love it that Bug has adopted Mannie's beds and so many of his mannerisms. That is surely a sign from Mannie.

Elsa, this morning it was 14 degrees here and those espressos never tasted better.

Have a good swim day today with Nicholas. I hope the big pool will be open to him.

Hugs, scritches,

Ella

p.s. glad you liked the pics from our hike yesterday. Most of the time it was too cold to get out the camera, but I had to get shots of that cleft through the rocks. Man, it was steep and icy!

Re: 11/13 LOOSE LIPS: salmon and freeway parks.... & it's WW

Yesterday sounds so relaxing and serene. And then coffee in the city? Woohoo! It would be so cool to watch the salmon.

Ah yes, winter does bring out a different side to the kitties. Ours sleep a lot more and like to snuggle more. Well Lola, what is up for today? You never know with that girl. So sweet and fun.

Enjoy your day with the boys!

Re: 11/13 LOOSE LIPS: salmon and freeway parks.... & it's WW

Yesterday did sound like a very nice day. I also don't get many "my own pace" days, either, so they definitely are a treat when they come along.

Yep, I am sure Lola is resting up for her next big adventure! I love that the kitties all have a little bit of Mannie in them. I see that here, too, with my GAs Mario and Mr Kitty...each of my guys have just a touch of their personality traits. It's a wonderful reminder/remembrance.

Have a great day, Michelle!

Good morning Michelle .. sounds like you had a nice day yesterday .. those slow at your own pace days are the best, and at this time of year seems like they are far and few in between .. I'm wondering if lola is thinking at this point, there is nothing she can do that can surprise you anymore and maybe has decided to join the rest of the sleeping clan!

Re: 11/13 LOOSE LIPS: salmon and freeway parks.... & it's WW

Lovely day yesterday! Free days are always so relaxing! Tess says she wants to come along and visit the fish market again next tiem you go. She volunteered to teach Lola how to sneek in and catch the flying fishies! They just need a lift into town!

Enjoy the pool time w/ Nicholas, how soon before William an start taking baby swim lessons/

Re: 11/13 LOOSE LIPS: salmon and freeway parks.... & it's WW

Freeway Park is really nice. I'm glad all the kitties are doing well and behaving, for now. I hope you have a good day with the boys.

Re: 11/13 LOOSE LIPS: salmon and freeway parks.... & it's WW

Good evening everyone! I cannot believe that it is 6PM already.... where did the day go? Oh yes.... I remember now: two boys! :-D  I hope your day has been a good one. We did really well here, heck we always do well when I have those two. it was a pool day today, and then a whatever happens day after that. Nicholas and I went to the pool, William spent the morning with the other grandparents. Weather was hit and miss here, some sun there, some there, clouds here, clouds there: but NO RAINS! The temps weren't too bad either, maybe 49/50, but OK. Rains due tomorrow, back to that again after their saying this morning that tomorrow would be good. oh sure....  The pool was great, always is. He was a little bit on the tired side, that always shows later in the session in the big pool, when he has to really work to do something. It is frustration then, but over all, awesome time. Lots of underwater, lots of play, one very happy little boy, back in the pool once again. One of the pool managers came up to me today and asked me how old he was. Said she was surprised at how well he does at his age. She kept going on on how nice it was that he can come as often as he does. well. yes. true. he loves it, so why not. We went to Snohomish today in the afternoon to see if we could check out a new pool, set to open in a month. It is supposed to be as good as, if not better, that the one he currently goes too. It was a no go... still fenced off, with guys "on guard" to make sure folks stayed out. But from what I could see it will be a very nice facility indeed. It sits atop a small knoll, lots of gassy slopes. It just looks great. We will wait a few weeks and go back when hopefully the fences will be down and we can get a closer look. SO far I really liked what I saw. Nicholas was very excited to be going to see a new pool, and kept asking if he could swim again in that pool. But as luck would have it, he fell asleep in his car seat before we got there. I was not waking that slumbering giant. I will go back. it is about a 25/30 drive to get there, but wow. I will post the Picassa links in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Ella, thanks on yesterday. I agree on Meadowdale. It is very atmospheric down there. We get an awful lot of different types of fungi there also. The area seems to just be a good spot for them to grow. Thanks to on the videos of the salmon run. Quite the event going on down there. And yes on Seattle, it has changed a lot since the 1960s. The park is gorgeous. And yes on Lola, always always guessing. Today she has been a good girl. I haven't found anything yet! I think it's great to that Bug has adopted many of Mannie's ways. It is just wonderful to see and I agree also a sign from Mannie. Wow on your 14 degrees. That is cold! and I loved the photos from your hike yesterday look look like quite the adventure.
Auntie Ella I am so happy that you liked my espresso. That is way too cold not to have hot coffee in the morning. I will be back tomorrow with more. ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Hi Melissa, thanks on yesterday. Yes it was relaxing and very serene also. it was a good day all around. I always enjoy going to the city to have coffee with my friend. Agreed too on the salmon. It was nice to see so many in the creek. Yupp on the kitties. Funny how winter does bring out the sleepy side in all of them.

Hi Amy, it was a nice day yesterday. It's especially nice when I can have my own pace days. So I agree they are such a treat. And yes on Lola. I am so sure that she's just resting up for the next great big adventure. Thanks too on the kitties. It's nice to see a little bit of Mannie in each one of them. Kind of fun when you can see that in our kitties. I agree it is a wonderful remembrance.

Hi Devon, I did have a great day yesterday thanks. I love the go at your own pace days. If only because I just don't get too many of them. Could be on Lola, you never know with this one. Maybe she's just finally mellowing out. It would be great to think she's just decided to join the rest of the sleeping clan.

Hi Ann, thanks and yesterday! I agree: free days are always so relaxing. I wish I had more of them. And you be sure and tell Tess that anytime she wants to go visit the fish market she just needs to let me know. The kitties so loved those adventures. I think it would be great if she could come up and teach Lola how to sneak in and catch those flying fishies. I think Lola would be very good at it. hmmmmm on the transportation thing.... scary! Thanks today on the pool. It's always such a joy to take Nicholas there. He has such fun. I'm not too sure on when we will start William. I suspect that probably after the first of the year maybe when he's about 8 months old. That should be in spring sometime. I know Nicholas is very anxious to have his brother come with him in the pool. We expect to have Nicholas will begin lessons sometime in January. At least that's the plan now.

hi Carla, thanks on freeway park. It really is a very pretty part. Springtime there is very very pretty. Thanks to on the kitties. It's nice to think that they are well and behaving, for now! Thanks on today. It was a good day with the boys.
