yesterday's condo

Weird higher numbers again. I started him on gaba this morning. The last time he did this (on 11/8), I was going to start him on gaba at his PM shot, but by then his numbers fell into normal range. So odd. If he's still high tonight, I'll take him to the vet's office tomorrow to see if we are dealing with a UTI or FIC.

Thanks, Brianna. He's had these little spikes in the past month or so. I think it's FIC, but I always need to check because he has also had UTIs, and of course they need an antibiotic.

He takes supplements daily on an ongoing basis (d-mannose + cystease + urinary gold + cornsilk extract), and when he has a flare I give him gaba and prozacin (anti-spasmodic). I haven't given him the prozacin yet-it's a new med for him--I guess I'll have to start it if his numbers remain high tonight. I'm new to the FIC thing, so we're still trying to find our way in terms of treatment. Jude makes it kind of difficult for me because he doesn't often show symptoms. When he had the last little spike in his numbers, he urinated outside the litter box (on his bed), so that was the clear flag that something was wrong with his UT. I took him in, and he had crystal clear urine--no blood and no sign of bacteria--so we believe it was a flare. That was a month ago.

So much more to worry about on top of the FD and chronic UTIs, especially since he's extra good at hiding his suffering! But he's so lucky to have you! You take such good care of him.

((Jude)) what's up little buddy? So sorry Mary that he may be going through another flare. What a frustrating situation for him and you. I know you're doing everything you can for him and he is so lucky to have you taking such good care of him. Really hope he's ok and that he comes down gently with no nose dives.
