Chispa had her lowest preshot in a while this morning, but regardless, I decided it was time to increase as planned. Two hours later she's screaming and voila, 54 and no doubt dropping fast. Opened a pouch of 13% and gave her half; she downed it in seconds and yelled for more. I didn't want her to throw up because she had already eaten a big breakfast (after throwing up right after her shots), so I mixed a few drops of honey into a tsp of 13% because I didn't have anything higher carb. Tried to test 15 mins later and poked her poor little ears SEVEN times without getting a usable drop of blood (if the neighbors heard me, I'll be hauled off by Child Protective Services before I finish this post :spam::spam::spam:). She has a vet appointment this afternoon to see what the recent vomiting is about and I'm guessing I'll be looking at another ultrasound.

Happy Monday, everyone! :blackeye::cat:

Morning Karen, that was some drop did you finally be able to get another test in after trying 7 times, poor Chispa . AIF so can you update your title and SS .
Good luck with the increase and vet visit today, keep us updated ok.
Have a nice a day Karen and kisses for Chispa :bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Vet visit today was expensive (as always) and not all that enlightening. I showed the video of Chispa eating and making the strange loud clacking noise, followed by pawing at her mouth. The vet said it sounded like she was grinding her teeth, usually an indication of pain. She tried to look at her teeth but said she had "the tightest lips I've ever seen" :nailbiting: and would have to be sedated for her to get in there and have a look around, so we set that up for next Monday afternoon. I am also going to make an appointment with an internist to have an ultrasound to compare to the one she had 2.5 years ago, when diagnosed with IBD. My hopes of ever regaining my solvency are fading fast, but oh well ... you can't take it with you, and all that.

Thanks, Diane. :bighug::bighug::bighug: Luckily it’s not total anesthesia, more like a sedative, but of course those of us who default to worrying (guilty!) will do so no matter what. I hope they can figure out what’s going on in her little mouth without too much trouble, and it had better be fixable. I didn’t call the internist today — got busy with work — but I’m giong to take her to the emergency and specialty practice that she went to a couple of years ago when she temporarily lost her vision. She saw two internists during her overnight stay, and I liked them both very much. It will be good to check in with them and make sure that all systems are “go” in this little fighter pilot.
