I think, at this stage, that any spot checks are good. He doesn't seem to have a definitive nadir.
Right now, with Cami, I am trying for slightly shifting times - yesterday was every 3 hours, but I can't do that today so I will get a +2 or 3 and then a +8 or 9.
You might try +5 and +9 today and then get an earlier test as a before bed check tonight (+3 or 4?). Varying your test times a bit now will allow you to see any "unpredictable" patterns that might emerge.
FYI, while nadir can be any time, lev tends to nadir a bit later - like +8 - on many cats.

For right now, the +6 is just fine. I don't think we're going to see much movement in numbers until he starts getting to the higher doses. Tidus, please prove me wrong on this!
A typical Levemir curve has an onset at +4 and nadir somewhere between +8 and +10. A +4 and a +8 could be helpful once we start to see some movement in his numbers.

Yeah Tidus!!!
So maybe grabbing a +7, 8, 9, or 10 might be helpful this cycle.

Yay for some movement!
I'd go with the +8 or +9 to see if maybe he's a "typical" Lev nadir kitty. Not that one cycle will nail down anything, but it's useful data.
