Yesterday, another day lost in a pink haze. As an experiment, I started back on the old cartridge yesterday morning.

11/11 Recap:
AMPS 383 +6 335 +9.5 231
PMPS 246 +5.5 286

After that +5.5 test last night, I had myself all psyched up for a pink this morning. Imagine my delight when the "3" was in the middle of the number, not the start. :-D :-D :-D Today's not a bad start, at this point of Neko's cycles she'll still head down quite a bit. Paws crossed for more blues today. Neko seems to be happier/less grouchy to Theo today. I think she was also tired of the pink. Last evening there was some sisal ball whacking, so she's getting her play back too.

I guess the experiment of the old vs new cartridge is pretty conclusive. I hate to toss out a barely started cartridge, but either I was doing fur shots unknowingly every few cycles, or the insulin in that cartridge is toast. The last week of numbers really didn't look like what I was used to for Neko on Lev. Now I'm wondering about the remaining unopened 3 cartridges in the package. :?

My heart goes out to Sam today for losing her charmer of a kitty called Charms. He was such a lucky kitty to have found her.

@Michelle - Thanks for visiting this morning. I'm feeling better, tied as we all are to our kitties numbers.

oh, YAY! for the 3 being the middle number!! I hear ya' about hating to throw out a barely used cartridge, but your test does look conclusive to me. Guess you could always try it, again, and see what it does to Neko's numbers. Did I miss why you think this one fizzled? Did it get left out? If so, were the other cartridges with it? If you don't know of any reason for it and you just think it's a wonky one-time happening, you really have no reason to think it'll happen with the unopened ones.

Definitely better, Neko! :-D :-D I wish there was a test to measure the potency of insulin. Didn't Marje get replacements for a box of 5 cartridges?

I hope Neko heads back down soon. It's good to hear she was playing some. Furball doesn't feel very good when she hits pink either.

Must be that said cartridge was just a dud...? I hope the other ones aren't duds, though I've read here and there that sometimes its a bad batch.

A good for you & Neko, with those lovely blue and yellow numbers!

@Libby - Yup, this looks like a definitive answer to the experiment. I've been using the "new" cartridge for 2.5 weeks and did get some green at the beginning. It hasn't been left out, don't know what would have caused it to fizzle. At one point the pack of 4 (before I switched) was in the meat compartment separate from the cartridge I am now using, and frozen meat got put in there (not by me) but the cartridges themselves were protected by the box and plastic. That's the only thing I can think of. And that's the worst case cause then the unused 3 are probably also toast.

@Liz - Much better indeed! First cartridge was excellent, I changed cause it was getting old and numbers seemed off a bit. So it's probably not a problem with all 5 from manufacturing.

@Carla - 120 points in 3 hours, yup, heading down indeed! Play really is a test of how well Neko is feeling. It used to be she played in pink. :roll:

@Kat - Could have been the one cartridge. I should check serial numbers. First cartridge was good, this is number 2. :? A mystery.

Hi Wendy,
Bummer on the cartridge. I guess proximity to frozen meat could have made the insulin freeze, but there's no way of knowing. Perhaps call the manufacturer. They may send you a replacement or maybe a coupon. whatever! It's good to see Neko's numbers looking more "normal".

Whew! Glad you were able to solve the 'Mystery of the Climbing Kitty'. It definately wouldn't hurt to call the manufacturer and see if there's anything they would be able to do for you. Just such a shame to have bum cartridges.

That's annoying but better than Neko's response getting worse.
It's good to see Blue back in Neko's subject line...

So much better. Got the B/W results from the vet tonight. In her words, "beautiful". Well, other than the high glucose. :roll: One other value was out, probably due to some dehydration. One of her best B/W results yet.

@Ella - I should try to call the manufacturer to see if they have any ideas on why it should poop out so quickly. Those blues are much easier on the eyes.

@Kim - It sure was a mystery, and worse, made me worry about Neko. :sad: Neko feels much better in blue now.

@Rhiannon - I felt much better typing that blue PS too. :lol: I've done a couple increases since going to that cartridge, curious to see how it plays out.

@Nancy - Tell Pepper all the cool cats hang out in blue.
